NEW UPDATE! Ronnie fizzing with rage in Coronation Street as Carl makes Debbie’s illness worse

Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) makes it really clear soon that he hasn’t developed a moral compass during the time his mum Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) has been in prison in Coronation Street.

Prior to the Corriedale crash, Carl was stealing money from Debbie. He did this by moving money from a hotel bank account, but keeping a portion of it for himself. For example, if a large bill needed paying, Carl would lie to the customer about the total price, and move the extra amount to his own account.

After Debbie and Ronnie Bailey’s (Vinta Morgan) wedding, chaotic Carl got drunk and left the venue in his car. Debbie was in the passenger side desperately trying to get Carl to slow down, but his careless driving ended up having an impact on how Corriedale played out.

Debbie took the fall for Carl and went to prison for drunk driving. You would think that this would be enough for Carl to soften somewhat and change the dynamic he has with Debbie – but you’d be totally wrong.

Summer is busy trying to work out the truth

In upcoming episodes, Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) remains determined to get to the bottom of what really happened when Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) died.

When newly released Debbie discusses plans for a potential girls’ trip with Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins), Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor), Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) and Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove), the mood changes when Bernie reveals that Carl has offered to share some information with Summer regarding Billy’s death – in exchange for Billy’s life insurance.

Horrified, Debbie confronts Carl about Summer’s allegation.

In the flat, Carl reveals that he heard someone confess to Billy’s murder, but isn’t willing to reveal who.

Disgusted at another low move, Debbie throws Carl out.

Later, as Debbie stares vacantly ahead, Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) is concerned to realise that she’s having one of her episodes.

Worried about his friend, Ryan tells Ronnie about Debbie and Carl’s row, and how it triggered another episode.

But just how will Ronnie react?
