Jodie’s sinister new move against David in Coronation Street drives Lily to violence
Mysterious Coronation Street newcomer Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) has had us intrigued since she first appeared on our screens in Corriedale, tied up in the back of Emmerdale villain Graham Foster’s (Andrew Scarborough) van.
After her daring escape, it transpired that she was Shona Platt’s (Julia Goulding) estranged half-sister, who’d been left behind when Shona left home.
Over the past few weeks, it has become clear that honesty is not one of Jodie’s strong suits. With each lie she’s told, her true motives have become more obvious. She has a vendetta against Shona and appears determined to ruin her life.
Her method of doing this in recent scenes has been to try to get David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) on side. She’s been cosying up to him and has showered him with compliments about what a good family man he is, all of which has left him more than a little weirded out.
However, in tonight’s episode, he joined Shona as one of the targets of Jodie’s meddling, as the newcomer set her sights on daughter Lily Platt (Grace Ashcroft-Gardner).

Lily has been having trouble at school because she didn’t have the latest trendy water bottle. Her problems only got worse in tonight’s episode when her so-called friends discovered her new water bottle was a fake, and she was sent home from school upset.
Jodie insisted on accompanying David to pick Lily up, and when they got home she left him impressed by how she handled the situation.
She opened up to Lily about her experience at school and how she had been picked on, and Lily was quick to point out the similarities in her on situation.

Jodie assured her that the reaction of her peers was more of a reflection on them than on Lily, and she should remember that she has a loving family at home, which is far more important.
Lily was won over, which left David pleased – though Jodie wasn’t finished there…
After David had left to run an errand, Jodie had another word with Lily, encouraging her to hit her bullies if they messed with her again.
