Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) couldn’t help but fear history was repeating itself when she witnessed Doctor Todd (Caroline Harker) treating Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) badly in Emmerdale.

Resident doctor Jacob currently works at Hotten General Hospital, and is being mentored by Doctor Caitlin Todd.

We met the GP last year, but the ITV soap is delving further into her personality right now amid a storyline that looks at workplace bullying.

For a reason yet to be revealed, Doctor Todd is currently targeting Jacob through verbal attacks and mind games. Whenever the opportunity arises, Todd will pick on Jacob’s character and make him feel useless.

She’s also very good at piling pressure on him. While adjusting to the expectations of the job, Jacob was also asked by Doctor Todd to produce some new research papers. When he presented them to her, Jacob was hurt when Todd basically called them awful.

Earlier this week, Jacob performed CPR on Doctor Todd’s dad, despite being aware that he has a DNR. He believed that Todd would want the opportunity to say goodbye but when she found out what he had done, the doctor reminded Jacob that he had been incredibly disrespectful and unethical.

Doctor Todd isn’t constantly calling Jacob bad at his job though. What makes this situation even more mind boggling is that she also regularly praises him, or offers him opportunities to better his career. Believing that his boss views him one way, and then another a few hours later, has left Jacob in quite a state.

Yesterday, he was revealed to be the person who hit Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) with his car.

When he arrived at the hospital, Jacob prepared himself for another attack from Todd, but was surprised when she spoke calmly to him instead.

The possibility of them being on the same page didn’t last long, as Doctor Todd proceeded to belittle Jacob as today’s instalment opened.
