A FAN-FAVOURITE EastEnders couple are to divorce after a bombshell return and a shock reveal.

The BBC soap’s first look iPlayer release has revealed the final moments for the beloved couple.

In today’s episode Ben Mitchell’s brief return from prison for his father-in-law Jonno’s funeral turned into more of a disaster.

He had expected to reunite with his husband Callum and family for a few hours to drop the news that he’s been transferred to a British prison for the remainder of his sentence.

But instead he discovered that Callum had been having an affair with Johnny Carter.

And worst still he discovered that his family knew about it and had kept it a secret – albeit with good intentions.

After trying to attack Johnny, Ben calmed down and sat with Callum to find out just what it all meant.

After asking Callum if he loved Johnny that was the final straw.

Callum tried to explain, confirming that he did love Johnny but “it’s different to what we have”.

But Ben cut him off to announce to the entire pub that he would be divorcing Callum.

He added: “Makes me feel better about the geezers I’ve been having inside.

“What? You thought you were the only one that got lonely? That’s the thing about love – one thing it’s there and then it ain’t.”

Ben walked out of the pub and was taken back to prison.

However once in his cell, he clutched a picture of him and Callum and his daughter Lexi and lay down looking devastated.

Is there hope for the couple yet? And where will that leave Johnny?
