Emmerdale’s Aaron and Robert united in a fight for the future
We’re going to whisper this to you because we don’t want to jinx it. Finally, happiness may be on the horizon for Emmerdale’s Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) and Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley).
When Robert was released from prison last year, he faced challenge after challenge, and it was largely been because of two men.
At first, it was John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth). When Robert returned to the village, he tried to stop Aaron from marrying his distant brother. This sparked a feud between the Sugden siblings, as John remained desperate to keep Aaron by his side, while Robert tried to prove that John wasn’t as nice as people thought.
His theory was proved correct at last towards the end of the summer, when John threw himself and Aaron off a cliff. Initially, people thought Robert had pushed them both in an act of jealousy but when Aaron woke up from his coma, he defended his ex and revealed the truth about John.
John then went on the run and just as Robert and Aaron believed things were looking up for them, Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill) arrived.
Kev was Robert’s prison husband, who got released himself and believed he could be with Robert on the outside. His time in the village saw him come to terms with the fact he was never going to be with Robert, and that his secret son Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches) was also living in the village as well.
Kev wandered off with his heart broken. Once again, Robert and Aaron believed their nightmare was over…but they had spoken too soon.
Towards the end of 2025, John and Kev returned and teamed up to try and get revenge on both Robert and Aaron. Just like John’s previous plans, things went awry, and he ended up causing the crash that took placed in Corriedale.

John was killed by Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) during the crossover event, while Kev left the village a couple of days prior.
With John and Kev gone at last, Aaron and Robert – who are engaged – are determined to create a brighter future for themselves.
In upcoming episodes though, Aaron starts to get worried that more trouble is waiting for him, as he finds Robert on his knees in the middle of Annie’s field. He’s deeply concerned, but Aaron is relieved when he finds out what Robert is actually doing.
