Emmerdale star Danny Miller has playfully expressed concerns about being axed after revealing his character Aaron Dingle’s “new look”.

The actor rose to prominence portraying Aaron, first appearing on screen in 2008. He has since established himself as a viewer favourite, featuring in numerous memorable storylines.

From his relationship with Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) to his involvement in the recent spectacular Corriedale episode, Aaron’s journey on the programme has been filled with dramatic moments.

Recently, Danny offered followers a glimpse of Aaron’s smarter appearance for 2026 – though he swiftly posted a clarification “in fear of losing my job”.

On Tuesday (January 13), Danny posted a video from his Emmerdale dressing room on Instagram Story. Standing before a mirror, he explained: “So this year I said it’s a new year, it’s a new me. Therefore, it’s a new Aaron as well.”, reports the Mirror.

“So costume said ‘Well, can we try something with you?’ and I said ‘Yeah let’s do it’. And they said ‘Do you fancy a new smarter Aaron, still in black of course’. And their response was this.”

Danny subsequently turned the camera to reveal himself dressed in a black high-neck jumper and quilted bomber jacket. He remarked: “It’s not a turtle neck. I’m assured it’s not a turtle neck.”

He then jested: “I suppose you could call it a ‘turneck’ and a ‘tulneck’.” Discussing his ensemble, Danny continued: “You can catch this live on ITV and ITVX sometime in February. But anyway do you like it?”

However, Danny quickly clarified matters in his subsequent Instagram Story. As he made his way to the soap’s filming location, he reassured his followers: “Just in fear of losing my job, I’d thought I’d better tell you it’s not live, just a disclaimer.”

Addressing Aaron’s fresh appearance, he explained: “It’s not a turtle neck, I’ve got a turteneck on it. It’s half a turtle for those who didn’t get the joke. I’m on the way to the studio and I’m excited to show everyone the new Aaron,” before jokingly adding: “Nobody will notice and nobody will care.”
