Viewers of EastEnders think they have worked out some big twists happening across 2026 after recent scenes.

The possible new plots involve characters such as Max Branning, Mark Fowler Jr, Nugget and Harry Mitchell. It could all lead to whatever happens in January 2027, which we got a glimpse of in the New Year’s Day flashforward in January.

Now, scenes onscreen have left fans curious as to whether some big moments lie ahead for some fan favourites. These include a possible bullying storyline after a health diagnosis, as well as a drugs relapse.

Then there’s the indentity of whoever Mark is working for amid his infomrant drama with Ravi Gulati. Fans have been sharing theories online, wondering if they know what happens with these characters.

For Harry, some recent scenes sparked speculation that the character, who recently became addicted to drugs, might suffer a relapse. After a scene which was described as “shifty” by one viewer, they wondered if he had already started using drugs again.

The fan said: “Was it just me or did he look really shifty after leaving the toilets? Hope he hasn’t had a relapse.” One viewer suggested they had an explanation for this though.

They said: “I thought this but I think it’s because they have a ‘no toilet usage without buying something’. I think that’s why he said to Vinny ‘you’re not gonna snitch on me are ya’.”

Another fan felt Harry moving back to the flat where he faced so much turmoil recently could spark a relapse. They said: “With Harry set to move back into the flat with Kojo I really do think he’s doomed to either relapse or have a mental breakdown.

“He’s not as tough as he puts on.” Another said: “I just hope whatever happens to Harry doesn’t lead to him having another relapse .” Another storyline a fan predicted was that Will Mitchell may target Nugget after his recent seizure.

After a recent epilepsy diagnosis, Nugget suffered another seizure in front of his friends. Will immediately got his phone out and began recording it, leaving viewers disgusted.

One fan now fears this will see Will taunting Nugget over his health diagnosis. They said: “Why do I get this feeling Nugget is gonna get bullied by Will after tonight’s episode due to what happened to Nugget in McKlunky’s.”

The final theory was that Max could be the person Mark is working for in a twist. We know that Mark has been mistaken for a police informant and he’s trying to clear his name to the bosses of his criminal gang.

After a scene in the flashforward showed him and Max seemingly close, fans wonder if it will be revealed that Mark is working for Max. A fan said: “Max is the boss Mark works for. Remember the nod Mark gave to Max in the flash forward episode.”
