Coronation Street star Beth Nixon has teased a dark new clue that could spell big danger for Sam Blakeman amid the disturbing Megan Walsh storyline. Beth’s character Megan has been grooming teenager Will Driscoll – though Sam knows the truth and is determined to expose her.

Megan knows that Sam is on to her, though scenes next week will see Sam come up with a risky plan to put a hidden camera in Megan’s flat to find evidence.

Beth said that her character “completely underestimates” Sam, despite thinking “she’s smarter” than the teen.

“She views him as just a kid and assumes she’s in total control,” she said. “She’s been incredibly mean to him because she sees him as weak, and she’s actively manipulating him through his grades. For now, she’s staying cool as a cucumber.”

However, things could backfire for Sam, as Beth teased that Megan will “do anything” to protect her secret, explaining that “she is the most important person in her life” and will “step over anyone to come out on top”.

The actor further said that Megan is driven by “knowing she could get in trouble” and “outsmarting people” – though this could ultimately end up as her Achilles heel.

“Her cleverness is her downfall, but so is her self-righteousness,” she noted. “She thinks she’s God’s gift and that she can get away with anything. I think she’d stay and fight until the bitter end, telling as many lies as possible.

“The idea of prison is terrifying to her, so she might eventually try to run, but her cockiness is what would ultimately lead to her demise. She truly believes she can manipulate everyone around her.

If the truth did come out, Megan would fear losing her “reputation” above anything else, Beth recalling: “There’s a scene where Leanne says Megan is like apple pie – this cool, lovely, white-picket-fence teacher. She wants to keep that image while still having the freedom to mess people over.”
