Coronation Street star Daniel Brocklebank has been told he ‘looks younger’ as he was seen making a big change months after his tragic final scenes in the long-running show aired.

Fans of the ITV soap will best know the actor for having played Billy Mayhew, the reformed vicar who arrived in Weatherfield back in 2014. But after 11 years on the cobbles, viewers watched Billy perish in a horror crash which unfolded during a historic TV event back in January.

The character’s demise took place during Corrie’s first-ever crossover with Emmerdale, dubbed Corriedale, as a dramatic crash unfolded. The special hour-long episode saw multiple characters involved in a catastrophic crash on a dark and stormy country road near the village of Hotten.

Billy was later confirmed to have perished in the minibus carrying a number of Debbie Webster and Ronnie Bailey’s wedding guests after it burst into flames following the horror pile-up and he was left trapped inside by villain Theo Silverton, who was aware Billy knew about his abuse of his partner, Todd Grimshaw.

A couple of months have since passed since Daniel’s last scenes aired and taking to social media over the weekend, the former soap star revealed a new look, or at least one he or fans haven’t seen for a decade, as he ditched his trademark facial hair.

Posting a clean-shaven selfie to Instagram, Daniel wrote: “First time clean shaven in over 10 years ready to start the next job. Yay or nay?? I can’t decide….” And it didn’t take long for his soap pals to respond.

Corrie’s Debbie Webster star Sue Devaney gushed: “You look n n n n nineteen! Yes yes yes! Sexy beast.” Sally Carman-Duttine, who plays Abi Webster, also commented: “Yay baby, yay!” George Shuttleworth actor Tony Maudsley said: “It’s a YAY from me!! You’re like Benjamin Button, dear!!” Gareth Pierce, who plays Todd Grimshaw, also penned: “Oh hello [love heart eyes emoji].”

And many of his other followers were also quick to respond. @sorrentoheart commented: “Well… now this is 90’s Dan!
