Coronation Street SHOCK: 6 Explosive Spoilers for 23rd–27th February!

What began as a reckless night out spirals into a nightmare for Bernie Winter.

Mal, the electrician who shared a drunken kiss with Bernie at a hotel, refuses to accept her rejection. Determined to prolong his presence in Weatherfield, he engineers fake electrical repair jobs at Roy’s flat—giving himself excuses to linger near Roy’s Rolls and, more disturbingly, near Bernie.

At first, Bernie senses something is off. Mal’s once-charming demeanor shifts into something darker. When he attempts to trap her inside the café under the guise of locking up, the atmosphere turns suffocating. His confession of feelings is met with firm rejection—but instead of retreating, his tone hardens. The mask slips.

The situation escalates dramatically when Bernie returns home to find her head cut out of her wedding photograph. It’s a chilling, invasive act that signals stalking. Convinced Mal is responsible, she panics. Her tough exterior—her lifelong shield—begins to crack.

After finally confessing to Dev about the hotel kiss, Bernie hopes honesty will bring stability. Instead, events spiral beyond her control. Following a heated confrontation in which she publicly threatens Mal, he is later discovered unconscious with a severe head injury.

At the Weatherfield Police Station, Kit Green reviews the report and is stunned to recognize the victim’s name: Mal. He’s rushed to hospital in critical condition.

With a witness overhearing Bernie’s threats, suspicion falls squarely on her. Officer Browning arrests her on suspicion of assault, leaving Bernie in a cell insisting she is innocent. The tragedy is layered—her admission to Dev hasn’t cleared her name; it may have sealed her fate.

If Mal survives, will he tell the truth? And if he doesn’t, can Bernie prove she wasn’t the one who struck the blow?

2. Steve Faces the Ghost of His Father

Elsewhere, Steve McDonald’s week begins with an unwelcome phone call. His father Jim’s landlord reveals that Jim owes £1,800 in unpaid rent—and Steve is listed as guarantor.

Frustration quickly gives way to something deeper when Steve learns from an old army acquaintance that Jim is in hospital. Cassie urges him to visit, warning that he may not get another chance. But Tracy reminds him of the emotional scars Jim left behind.

Torn between resentment and reluctant loyalty, Steve agrees to go—only for fate to intervene when his car battery dies. Ben offers to drive him, but upon arriving at the hospital car park, Steve freezes. He cannot bring himself to step inside.

Later, after a heavy drinking session at the Rovers, Steve misses Jim’s call entirely. The next morning, waking hungover and ashamed, he resolves to close that chapter of his life for good.

But can you ever truly walk away from your father—especially when time may be running out?

3. Ronnie’s Fury as Debbie Funds Carl

In prison, Debbie Webster remains fiercely loyal to Carl, despite mounting warnings from Ronnie that Carl is exploiting her guilt over their long-hidden mother-son relationship.

Ignoring Ronnie’s pleas, Debbie instructs him to transfer £2,000 from her account to Carl. Furious, Ronnie confides in Ed that Carl is draining Debbie financially and emotionally.

The storyline underscores Carl’s manipulative streak and sets the stage for potential fallout. With Debbie behind bars and isolated, Carl’s influence over her remains disturbingly strong.

How far will Ronnie go to protect Debbie from herself—and from Carl?

4. Jodie’s Past Returns with a Shock

The mystery surrounding Jodie Ramsay deepens when a figure from her past suddenly appears.

Olivia, a teenage girl Jodie once cared for, confronts her on the street. Hurt and confused, Olivia demands to know why Jodie left after claiming she loved caring for her and her younger brother.

The encounter visibly rattles Jodie. Later, alone at Number Eight, she retrieves a hidden box from a cupboard—another secret carefully concealed. The significance remains unclear, but it’s clear Jodie is not who she claims to be.

Meanwhile, someone watches her from a distance, clutching a necklace identical to the one Jodie wears—a necklace bearing photos of two children.

As her lies begin to unravel, the question grows louder: what exactly is Jodie hiding?

5. Shona and David’s Marriage Under Threat

Jodie’s presence at Number Eight continues to destabilize Shona and David’s already strained marriage.

When Shona’s wedding ring goes missing during a pamper session, suspicion quietly builds. The next day, David returns home to find Jodie reaching behind an armchair, claiming she can feel the ring but needs help retrieving it.

The intimacy of the moment feels calculated. Later, Jodie stages scenarios that make David appear inattentive and lazy, further exhausting Shona—who is already overwhelmed caring for baby Harper and juggling hospital visits.

At the café, Shona confides in Bethany that she and David barely see each other anymore. The emotional distance between them widens.

Is Jodie orchestrating a deliberate campaign to fracture her sister’s marriage? And if so, why?

6. George’s Reputation on the Line

At Shuttleworth’s Funeral Home, George faces a crisis of professional integrity.

After being named beneficiary of a client’s £10,000 will, he is accused by the deceased’s daughter, Annie, of coercion. Matters worsen when Christina makes an ill-timed joke about George influencing wills—overheard by potential client Mrs. Ripley.

Adam reveals he has been hired by Annie to challenge the will, advising George to secure legal representation immediately.

When George considers refusing the inheritance to avoid scandal, Christina argues that doing so would imply guilt. George resolves to stand firm—but Annie escalates matters further, warning others against trusting Shuttleworth’s services.

By Friday, the damage intensifies when Annie publicly disrupts funeral arrangements, convincing Mrs. Ripley’s son to take his business elsewhere.

For George, it’s not just about money—it’s about reputation. In Weatherfield, trust is everything. Once lost, it can be impossible to rebuild.
