Coronation Street‘s Todd Grimshaw reveals to Billy Mayhew that he’s being checked for bowel cancer next week, as he prepares to attend an appointment at the hospital. The scenes play out on the day of Noah Hedley’s funeral, as Todd lies to his partner Theo Silverton about why he can’t attend.

Todd tells Theo that he’s stuck at work. However, he is actually heading off to undergo tests – a secret that he confides in only his ex-boyfriend Billy…

“Todd’s reasoning for keeping this from Theo is that he thinks his partner has enough on his plate with Noah’s funeral and recent custody battle,” our Corrie source explains. “However, he insists that he’ll tell Theo everything once he has his results – whatever they are.

“Kind Billy offers to accompany Todd to the hospital, and he’s grateful for the support.”

When Theo arrives back from the funeral, he’s furious to once again find Todd and Billy together in The Rovers – and his anger only gets worse after Todd reveals they’re going to dinner with Christina Boyd and George Shuttleworth that evening.

“Theo hates Todd’s friends, and that’s a major red flag,” our insider continues. “He’s already punished Todd for spending time with Billy and tried to threaten them both, but if he really wants to isolate Todd, he’ll have to take on more than just Billy.”

Theo causes more drama earlier in the week, as devastated Todd tells George that he hasn’t heard a word from his boyfriend since their night out in the gay village.

However, when Todd’s alerted to Theo shouting for help in Victoria Gardens, where Asha Alahan has been found unconscious, Todd explodes at him for his disappearance.

“Manipulative Theo is the one to find Asha after an overdose, and he uses this to his advantage,” our spy reveals. “Heartbroken Amy gushes about Theo to Todd, telling him that if Theo hadn’t found Asha, things could’ve ended differently.

“Theo’s image as a hero totally overshadows the fact that he disappeared on purpose to emotionally torture poor Todd. Yet while concerned George reckons Todd is better off getting shot of Theo, he won’t listen…”

As Todd waits for his hospital results, could he be set to confront a new twist where his health is concerned? And how will Theo react when he finds out that his boyfriend has kept this secret from him?
