Coronation Street con as Carl’s evil scheme against Debbie escalates
Coronation Street villain Carl Webster is hellbent on convincing his sister Debbie to give up control of her business finances next week, as he marks an outstanding invoice from Preston’s Petals as ‘paid’. With Debbie due back in work, Carl makes the manipulative decision to meddle with the paperwork.
So, when Tracy McDonald turns up at the hotel with the floral arrangements, Carl makes out to Ronnie Bailey that Debbie claims to have paid the invoice, but there’s no evidence to prove that…
“It’s cruel behaviour. Carl is outright manipulating Debbie’s fears about her own dementia just so he can become better off financially,” our Corrie insider explains.
“But it’s not just his own sister that he’s messing about, he’s also playing Ronnie like a fool, which is unbelievably nasty considering how much he loves and cares for his fiancée.”

In front of Tracy, lying Carl makes out that she hasn’t been paid due to an oversight, but he’ll sort things out for her.
Unsatisfied, Tracy remains furious at the supposed mix-up, while Debbie tearfully confides in Ronnie that her dementia symptoms must be spiralling. As Ronnie suggests it might be time to quit work, will Debbie agree with him?
Later in the week, Carl updates the password on the hotel’s accounting system, then refuses to share the new information with Ryan Connor – even going as far to remind him that the hotel’s finances are now his remit.
With Carl in charge, is Debbie’s beloved business destined for failure? Or will Carl continue to get away with his dirty tricks?

Speaking recently about Debbie’s future, Corrie‘s producer Kate Brooks told us: “For Debbie, she’s enjoying life and making the most of it. She’s obviously planning for a big wedding with Ronnie, which will happen sometime towards the end of the year.
“It’s going to be a really gorgeous, joyful wedding. It’s very Debbie in its execution. It smacks of Debbie being lovable and a bit out there!
“Also, we’ll get to see the debut of the dementia choir that Debbie’s been so invested and involved in. She’s focusing on that because she wants to enjoy the time she has here.”
