Abi Webster (Sally Carman-Duttine) struggles as she worries that Carl (Jonathan Howard) is unhappy with their new reality and after a tense exchange with Jack Webster (Kyran Bowes), ends up swinging for perennial thorn-in-the-side, Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford).
Meanwhile, David (Jack P Shepherd) and Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) struggle with how to handle their baby news, Trisha Pinkerton (Anita Booth) continues to cast a shadow on the Metcalfes, Roy Cropper (David Neilson) develops a secretive new hobby and Kirk Sutherland (Andrew Whyment) has an interesting idea for a new project.

Theo cruelly destroys any chance of Todd making it to work, unplugging his alarm and putting his work clothes in the wash while he sleeps, leading George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) to panic, later furiously informing Todd that he’ll be replaced at the funeral by Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins). Theo further manipulates Todd and when he crosses George and Christina later, he sees red.
Meanwhile, Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) launches an attack on Trisha when she sees her with a teenage boy before learning that he’s her nephew and Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) wounds Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) when he later asks about Trisha, while Carl, unimpressed with having to look after Alfie, palms him off on Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell).
Elsewhere, Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) moves in with Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien), David suggests to Shona that they share the issues they’re facing with family and Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley) takes Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn) on a pamper session in an attempt to thaw the ice between them.

Theo uses Todd’s job loss as an excuse to again work with Pete (Andrew Haydn-Smith), citing the need for one of them to bring home the bacon. When Theo and Pete make up and Theo extends a dinner invitation, Todd is floored when Pete turns up at the flat. With Theo insisting that they need to play nice, Todd bristles.
Meanwhile, Shona is furious and storms out when David tells Nick Tilsley (Ben Price), Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) and Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) how poorly their baby is, while Abi questions Carl on how happy he is with their new life. She’s heartened to return home to find Carl has transformed the place into a candle-lit love nest.
Elsewhere, Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) questions Roy over his new obsession with the post while Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) meets Megan (Beth Nixon) and offers to help her find a job at Weatherfield High, leaving Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale) seriously narked off.

Tracy takes the opportunity to wind up Abi, who’s wounded when Jack snubs her on the street. As Tracy continues to prod with her cruel jibes, Abi ends up lamping her, but is horrified to realise that Kevin saw the fracas.
Meanwhile, Carla Connor’s (Alison King) planned day of celebration for Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) to mark the anniversary of their first kiss is ruined when she’s called to the police station. Eventually released and convinced Becky Swain (Amy Cudden) is behind the mess, she heads off on the warpath, while Theo strives to make Todd jealous by exercising with James Bailey (Jason Callender).
