Cindy left to die as Jasmine finally strikes in EastEnders

Ever since mysterious Jasmine Fisher (Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness) appeared in EastEnders, viewers have been chomping at the bit to discover just who she is and why she’s so interested in Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins).

Upon her arrival in Walford, she set her sights firmly on Cindy, slyly manipulating Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) out of his job at The Albert and claiming it for her own. Cindy, a talented practitioner of manipulation herself, knew exactly what Jasmine had done, but was impressed by her determination.

Numerous characters have tried to dig below Jasmine’s expertly manicured surface. Kinda-boyfriend-kinda-not Oscar Branning (Pierre Counihan-Moullier), in an attempt to get closer to her, suggested that she was either escaping from or looking for something. Jasmine coyly said that she could potentially be doing both.

Boss Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) tried to glean more information from Jasmine, though she dismissed her, suggesting that she’d arrived in Albert Square to avoiding having to join the family business, while balking when Elaine later asked her to produce identification to put her on the payroll.

When Jasmine was accidentally run over by Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley), while slipping into unconsciousness, she gasped: ‘I can’t die like this, she’s ruined everything, she needs to pay for what she did’, leaving viewers further confused about her true motives.

Oscar became more curious when Jasmine checked out of hospital early, having told her mum not to bother visiting. He teamed up with Elaine to try and discover Jasmine’s true lore, though the duo were scuppered when she figured out what was going on. As Oscar apologised, Jasmine was busy worming her way into Cindy’s home while she’s away.

Later this week, while Oscar continues to try and win her heart, Jasmine uses him to assist her in a dangerous plan, when she steals Anthony’s surgery keys and convinces him to sneak into the surgery with her.

While Oscar originally believes that his would–be paramour is just indulging in a spot of spontaneous thrill-seeking, the truth is that Jasmine knows exactly what she’s looking for.

Next week, Cindy and Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) become suspicious of Jasmine and decide to take action and when Jasmine leaves her unlocked phone lying around, they’re given all the opportunity they need.

They meet up with Jasmine’s mum, Anita, who delivers a dark warning; they need to be incredibly wary of her daughters dark side.

Cindy, being Cindy, takes absolutely no heed and later, at the Albert, tells Jasmine that she’s met her mum. Utterly enraged, Jasmine responds by pushing Cindy down the stairs, leaving her lifeless body in a heap at the bottom.
