Casualty star William Beck gives verdict on popular Dylan and Stevie relationship
Casualty star William Beck has spoken out about the important bond between his character Dylan Keogh and his colleague Stevie Nash. Dylan’s life has been turned upside down in the current boxset ‘Learning Curve’, discovering that new resident doctor Matty Linlaker is his biological son.
Having sneakily taken a DNA sample from Matty to find out for sure, Dylan has kept this bombshell from the Holby newcomer until now. But in this Saturday’s episode, the truth will finally be out in dramatic scenes where Dylan confesses to Matty that he is his dad.
Dylan has been able to confide in Stevie throughout this ordeal, and she is the only person who knows about this shocking secret. Speaking to Digital Spy and other media, Beck explained why Stevie has played such an important role in this story.
“The news is so improbable and alarming that I think he’s very angry with Stevie for having brought to his attention the thing about [Matty’s mum’s] name and teased him,” he said. “But then of course, he needs her help, and he realises that she’s the only person that he could really tell.

“I think that bond becomes, in this world that’s swimming about, something that he can hang onto at least.”
Dylan and Stevie’s close bond has proved popular with viewers, and some fans are even hopeful that their platonic relationship could become romantic – especially after a touching scene between them during the special Christmas episode in 2024.
Sharing his own thoughts on the nature of Dylan and Stevie’s connection, Beck said: “It’s a relationship that obviously depends on where they put the storylines. Stevie and Dylan kind of glance off each other more than anything else.”

“I would say if Matty and Dylan are the same note [on an instrument], I think Stevie is like a minor variation on the chord. There’s something that sparks just the right way,” he added.
Aside from Dylan’s life-changing bombshell, this week on Casualty, Jacob is left horrified when his son Blake is incorrectly profiled by police officer Ashley, who suspects him of a crime he didn’t commit.
Meanwhile, Siobhan gets the disappointing news that the police haven’t been able to identify the man who assaulted her and is left without answers.
