Casualty confirms upsetting Siobhan McKenzie update in shocking attack plot
Casualty has confirmed an upsetting update for Siobhan McKenzie following the horrific attack she suffered in a recent episode.
In scenes set to air this weekend, Siobhan receives some bad news from Detective Inspector Hughes: the authorities were unable to obtain a sufficient enough DNA sample in order to make a positive ID of the man who raped her.
Siobhan insists to Flynn (who she covered for late into the night and walked home rather than get a taxi) that she’s fine, although it’s obvious that she isn’t after a patient touches her and she struggles.
She then hears that Rida is leaving in her uniform after her shift, while Jodie and Cam are planning on walking home.

Siobhan actor Melanie Hill, who joined the medical drama last year after leaving Coronation Street in 2022, recently discussed the harrowing storyline, calling it an honour and a responsibility.
“First of all, as an actress, it’s an amazing story to be given the opportunity to play,” she said.
“But with that comes across a lot of responsibility because I am telling a story of these horrible things that unfortunately happen to people. I wanted to make sure it was done sensitively.”

“I’m proud of telling the story of sexual assault to an older person, because you don’t really think that this kind of thing will happen to someone of that age. I am proud of the fact that it was addressed, and I think it’s an important story to tell.”
She added that while Siobhan “goes through a phase of really shutting down”, she will start to push through eventually.
On this storyline, Casualty has worked closely with The Bridge (a sexual assault referral centre in Bristol), Cambridge Rape Crisis, and SurvivorsUK.
