Bethany Platt is back on Coronation Street but not in the way you’d expect. She’s not turning up with a smile or a suitcase. Instead, she’s sitting in a police interview room. That’s the first place we see her… and it’s clear something’s gone very wrong.

Things Hadn’t Been Easy

Before Bethany left Weatherfield, she went through a really tough time. She had a liposuction operation in Turkey, but it went badly. She got sepsis and had to live with a permanent stoma bag after that. It was a huge shock, and she struggled with how she felt about herself. During that time, she got back together with Daniel Osbourne. They got engaged and were trying to move forward. But Daniel still had feelings for his ex, Daisy.

Bethany didn’t know about any of this. So when she told Daniel that they’d picked a wedding date, Daisy came out with the news about the baby and said Daniel might be the dad. Bethany was heartbroken and embarrassed. She broke up with Daniel and went to London to start a new chapter.

Bethany Shows Up Again at the Police Station

Now she’s back. But instead of coming home quietly, she’s being questioned by the police. She tells Kit that she left her job in London, took her boss’s car without asking, and drove straight to Weatherfield. She says she didn’t steal it on purpose, she just needed to get away. But the police don’t see it that way. And Kit, who’s now going out with Bethany’s mum, is the one talking to her. It’s not the welcome back she was hoping for.

Kit’s helped family before when they’ve been in trouble. And now Bethany might be hoping he’ll do the same for her. But will he take that risk again? And what about Daniel? He hasn’t seen Bethany since she left. Now she’s back, and she’s in a mess. Will he want to speak to her? Or will he stay away?
