Becky’s plan to destroy Carla foiled in Coronation Street as Betsy steps in

Becky Swain (Amy Cudden) has been determined to do whatever it takes to get her family back in Coronation Street, and the only person standing in her way is Carla Connor (Alison King).

Carla got engaged to Becky’s wife Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) this summer, just days before it was discovered that Becky was still alive.

Lisa and daughter Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) had spent years believing that Becky had been killed in a hit and run while on duty as a police officer, so it came as an enormous shock when she suddenly turned up on the cobbles one day.

Since her resurrection, Becky has tried her hardest to come between Carla and Lisa, but even playing their wedding song and kissing her ex-wife wasn’t enough to convince Lisa to leave Carla for her old life.

Now, Becky has attempted a different tactic, this time using daughter Betsy.

She had previously asked Betsy to move to Spain with her, and Betsy was more than willing.

Becky had been living in Alicante during the four years she was supposedly dead, and with DI Costello (Daon Broni) wanting her gone ASAP, she decided she wanted Betsy to tag along.

Unfortunately for her, Lisa and Carla were dead against the idea.

In tonight’s episode, after several hours of giving them the silent treatment, Betsy eventually asked Carla if she and Lisa would consider a holiday to Spain with her and Becky.

Seeing how much Betsy wanted it, Carla managed to convince Lisa, and Betsy was eager to share the news with Becky.

Becky was less than impressed, even as Betsy assured her that Carla and Lisa would be doing their own thing while the two of them spent time together.

Noticing that Betsy was still on Carla’s side, Becky stooped even lower as she tried to convince Betsy that Carla was ‘toxic’, but that the teenager couldn’t see it because she’d become so used to her behaviour.

Thankfully, Betsy didn’t fall into the trap, and informed Becky that Carla had been really good to her and Lisa while they were grieving her.
