BBC Death in Paradise actor says Casualty role is ‘dream job’
Death in Paradise’s Aron Julius has said his new role in Casualty is a “dream job”.
The actor, who previously portrayed a murder suspect in the hit crime series, is taking on the role of a resident doctor in the long-running medical drama. Aron will play charming Dr Matty Linlaker in the BBC series, which is marking its 40th anniversary this year.
“I am absolutely buzzing to be joining Casualty as Dr Matty Linlaker,” he said. “It’s a dream job – fast, fun and full of heart – and I can’t wait for audiences to meet him. Saturday nights just got a little more chaotic.”
Aron made an appearance in the 11th series of Death in Paradise, which aired a festive special over Christmas. He played potential murderer Jason Clarke, a character embroiled in a complicated kidnapping plot.
His acting portfolio also includes roles in Moving On and DCI Banks, and last year he portrayed Stuart in a two-part episode of Silent Witness, reports the Express.

Aron is no newcomer to the theatre scene either, having previously starred as Valentine Brown in the musical Quality Street. His stage credits also include performances in As You Like It, Romeo and Juliet and A Christmas Carol.
Joining Aron in the new series of Casualty is Jasmine Bayes, recognised for her roles in Doctor Who and Vera. She will portray Kim, a new resident doctor who has to navigate the challenges of the emergency department alongside Matty.
“I am delighted to be joining the ED alongside Aron for Casualty’s 40th year,” the actress commented.
“The journey Kim goes on is far from simple, and I hope audiences are prepared to follow her into some troubled waters.”

The forthcoming series of Casualty promises plenty of drama, with a synopsis revealing that “as the Emergency Department is overwhelmed and the CQC (Care Quality Commission) closes in, Flynn (Olly Rix) and Siobhan (Melanie Hill) must unite the team as tensions threaten to break it apart”.
Elsewhere, Faith (Kirsty Mitchell) and Iain (Michael Stevenson) face difficulties navigating a fresh obstacle in their relationship, whilst the romance between Cam (Barney Walsh) and Indie (Naomi Wakszlak) intensifies.
