EastEnders fans ‘rumble’ who will be sent down for crash and it’s not Nigel or Julie
EastEnders fans are convinced they know who will be sent down for Monday’s devastating car crash.
Soap watchers will recall that only recently, Nigel Bates has been struggling with his young onset dementia. On Monday’s episode, Nigel prepared to sell his beloved vintage car but accidentally damaged it in the process.
This forced Lauren Beale to reduce the price but Nigel took the deal anyway, needing the cash for his upcoming trip to India.
Feeling sad after saying goodbye to his beloved car, Nigel confessed to Yolande Trueman that he wanted one last drive in his car and after spotting the missing car keys, which Julie Bates had hidden but forgotten where, he got an idea.
Later, after an argument with Julie, Nigel decided to have one last drive as he snuck into his car and whizzed off around Walford.
However, when he received a call from Julie during the drive, he quickly became overwhelmed and distracted as he dramatically crashed into Jasmine Fisher and Gina Knight.
The episode ended with both Jasmine and Gina unconscious on the floor while Nigel looked both confused and horrified over what happened.
In upcoming spoilers, Julie lies and tells Nigel she was driving. However, a suspicious Nigel is convinced she’s lying as he hands himself into Jack Branning and is accompanied to the police station.
Yet soap watchers don’t think either Julie or Nigel will go down for the crime and instead someone else in Walford will be framed.
Viewers will recall that Okie is currently holding Harry Mitchell hostage amid his drugs operation with Ravi Gulati. Recent scenes show Harry stuck in a bedroom with chains on his ankles, as Okie continues to torment him.
Harry’s father Teddy has grown increasingly concerned about his son, while his girlfriend Gina has been left in the dark about what’s happening.
On Monday’s episode, George Knight grew concerned about Kojo’s whereabouts, who has also been involved and exploited in the drugs operation, which led Okie to make plans to cover his tracks.
Okie also used the opportunity to target Gina too, who he wants to steal from Harry while holding the latter hostage, as he lied pretending Harry and Kojo had been on a night out together, claiming Harry cheated on her. Later, Okie instructed Harry to call Kojo to sort it to which he instead told Kojo to run away.
Soap watchers are now convinced that Okie could be framed for the crash. Taking to Twitter, now X, one person said: “Okie has been spending time with Gina – he’s got her boyfriend locked up and Kojo has gone AWOL because of him. Once George gets wind of what has happened it won’t take him long to jump to the wrong conclusion and accuse Okie of causing the crash. #EastEnders.”
A different account put: “I can see Okie getting framed for this though given he’s been close to Gina recently #EastEnders” while another added: “I get the feeling that George might frame Okie for the car accident once he gets wind of Okie’s date with Gina.”
Elsewhere, a different soap watcher put: “Tonight’s Duff Duff spells bad news for Okie. I mean he’s got Gina’s boyfriend locked up – Kojo has gone AWOL and now Gina’s got caught up in a car accident after Okie had a date with her What’s that going to make George think? I hope Okie gets framed for this #EastEnders.”
