Home and Away star Ada Nicodemou quietly split from her long-term partner of eight years, Adam Rigby. The soap star and the Sydney businessman are reportedly on good terms and broke up at the end of last year.

“Everything is amicable,” an insider told The Daily Telegraph. “They remain friends but decided to go their separate ways.”

It comes after fans thought Adam was preparing to propose to Ada as they jetted off on a Europe trip in August last year with her son Johnas, who she shares with her ex-husband Chrys Xipolitas.

New Idea reported at the time that the couple had skipped the Logie Awards so they could visit Cyprus with Johnas.

The engagement rumours went into overdrive after Ada revealed to the publication that the trip was so Adam could meet her extended family.

The reports at the time said that the pair’s family and friends believed the couple to be “mad about each other” and they were waiting on them to make things official with an engagement.

The Home and Away star reportedly loved that Adam didn’t know who she was when they met, and he and Johnas got along very well.

Ada’s split comes after her on-screen husband, James Stewart, split from his former Home and Away star wife Sarah Roberts.

Sarah confirmed the split in an interview with Stellar magazine, saying, “I just want to say that I am divorced.”

She revealed the couple had grown apart and that was “okay”. “‘Sometimes people grow apart and that’s okay… I got to a point where I realised I couldn’t grow in the way I wanted to within this particular relationship,” she said.
