Disaster strikes in Coronation Street as Roy catches Becky and Lisa snuggled up

Coronation Street boss Kate Brooks has warned that Becky Swain (Amy Cudden) will stop at nothing to get her family back, saying ‘She wants to oust Carla (Alison King) from this very happy home life that she’s created.’

In episodes to air soon, we’ll see her putting this plan into action – leading to a bit of a shock for Roy Cropper (David Neilson).

Since Becky returned from the dead, leaving her wife, her daughter and her wife’s new fiancée totally gobsmacked, she has wasted no opportunity to get her feet under the Swarla table – and wind Carla up.

Carla has been doing her best to put up with the situation, knowing how complex it is for Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) and how important it is for Betsy (Sydney Martin) to have her mum back in her life. But when she had to take a trip to Ireland, she wasn’t sure at all about leaving Becky and Lisa alone together, and asked Roy to keep an eye on them while she’s away.

While Carla’s out of the way, Becky enjoys spending time with Betsy, who persuades her mum to model some of her designs for her college project. Lisa joins in as Becky struts around the lounge modelling the clothes – and Betsy records the fun and then uploads the video to her socials.

This, of course, is a risky thing to do because Becky is supposed to be keeping a low profile in case Bad People find out where she is and put the family in danger. Becky panics about what Betsy has done.

The following day, Lisa is concerned when she hears from Kit (Jacob Roberts) that Betsy has been arrested – and Lisa blames Becky. She tells her that Betsy has been struggling ever since she surprised them all by rising from the dead.

Costello (Daon Broni) claims that Betsy damaged a police car, resisted arrest and tried to attack him. But is this his subtle way of trying to get Becky to leave the country? He meets with her and tells her it’s time she vanished again – otherwise it will be worse for Betsy.

Becky finds some evidence that proves Becky is innocent and Lisa goes to confront Costello about wrongfully arresting her daughter.

But Costello later calls Becky and tells her that he’s kept his side of the bargain by claiming to Lisa that he was the one who prevented Becky from contacting her family earlier. He tells Becky he wants her gone within a month.

But when Roy arrives a the house to keep an eye on things as he promised Carla, what he finds worries him. Lisa is snuggled up on the sofa with Becky in a worryingly intimate scene.

What’s going on? Surely Lisa hasn’t betrayed Carla?

‘You don’t want to mess with Becky,’ Kate Brooks warned. ‘She’s got her sights set on getting that family back. She’s clever and she’s wily. She stayed dead for, like, four years! She knows what she’s doing.’
