Coronation Street’s Kevin Webster is having a hard time adjusting to the separation from Abi, as new scenes see him burst into tears over a feud with his ex.

After his cancer ordeal, Kevin suffered another blow when Abi left him, concealing she had been having an affair with his brother Carl.

However, the affair was exposed during an awkward family dinner for Ronnie Bailey’s birthday, leaving Kevin in despair. But he tries to maintain a relationship with Abi for Alfie’s sake.

In scenes airing next week, Abi texts Kevin to see if he’d like to mind Alfie.

He calls to collect Alfie, but seeing how angry and upset he is, Abi changes her mind and says he can have Alfie another day instead. Outside, a devastated Kevin breaks down in tears.

Later in the week, having taken a call from the rival garage, Abi tells Roy Cropper that she didn’t get the job.

Suspecting that Kevin is sabotaging her chances to get a new gig, Abi barges her way into No.13 and accuses her ex, but is she right?

Our Corrie source confirmed Abi and Kevin are “in a terrible place” following the revelation of her affair.

“Kevin’s keen to still play some role in Alfie’s life, but Abi won’t stand for him being visibly angry when her young son is around,” our source said.

“The tensions get even worse when Abi thinks Kevin is ruining her chances of providing for Alfie by getting herself a new job. Has he really made such a petty move?”

Abi star Sally Carman previously confirmed she and Kevin actor Michael LeVell would still be working together, though she was cautious about a possible reunion for the soap couple.

“I genuinely don’t know [if Abi and Kevin will have a future],” she said.

“I would like there to be. Abi and Kevin were just a brilliant mismatched, perfect-for-each-other couple.”
