And to mark the support she has had from Irish fans over her time on the soap, she will do a farewell tour around the country.

Fans can meet her, pose for pics and get to ask questions about what they’ve always wanted to know.

There will also be a live Q&A where she will share some behind-the-scenes stories and tales about her fellow castmates.

And for those who get the VIP packages, there will also be signed merch.

The tour will go across the country, with multiple dates across Ireland in Cork, Limerick, Galway, Dublin, Belfast, Kilkenny and Waterford.

It kicks off at the end of October and runs into early November.

In Waterford, she will be at the Tower Hotel, while she will speak at the River Court Hotel in Kilkenny.

Over the years, Irene has been through a number of huge storylines, from battling alcohol addiction, to surviving a bomb at the hospital, being kidnapped and held captive for weeks, and even going to prison.

Another actress, Jacqy Phillips, first played Irene, before she left the soap.

When McGranger was cast, it was originally supposed to be just 13 weeks but fans and viewers loved her and she was brought back six months later, where she has been since.

Her exit has already aired in Australia but RTE viewers will see her leave this week.

It will see her heading off to travel while she still can, after a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s Disease.

Locals will throw her a big party before she leaves, before she leaves for her new life.

Speaking about her exit, Lynne said: “Our last scenes were incredibly difficult but rich.

“Ada [Nicodemou] was sobbing and Shane [Withington], I think, is still in denial! They were the hardest to tell that I was leaving, but I know we’ll always be friends beyond Home And Away.”
