#YR’s Stephanie returned to Genoa City with news for Holden, while Malcolm made a request of Lily. Could these two things possibly be related
Malcolm’s back in Genoa City, and brought with him the devastating news that he’s battling aplastic anemia. But a Young & Restless mega-twist could land someone else in the hospital… and it’s not the person you may be thinking!
When Malcolm broke the news to Lily that he needed a life-saving bone marrow donation to survive, he explained that immediate family members are most likely to be a match. His biological daughter vowed to get tested and go through with the procedure no matter how unpleasant. Malcolm and Lily, satisfied that a solution was forthcoming, rejoined Devon and Nate in the dining room, but the conversation left us wondering, “What if Lily’s not a match?”
That brings us to our suspicions about what Stephanie’s about to tell Holden. Young & Restless all but gave it away in the lead-up, so it’s really no secret that she may be on the verge of revealing that he’s Malcolm’s son.
Stephanie and Malcolm hooked-up back in the day and then went their separate ways, so it’s entirely plausible. If that’s where her return storyline is headed, then it’s either quite a coincidence that she turned up in Genoa City at the same time as Malcolm… or it was by design.
If our hunch is correct, Stephanie is Malcolm’s doctor and is the one who diagnosed him with aplastic anemia. This would explain why they showed up in town at exactly the same time (both apologizing for being late = same flight), and also why she’s picked this particular time to tell Holden the “truth about his father.”
If Lily’s not a match for Malcolm, or proves to be ineligible, soap opera rules dictate that Holden, who will have just found out he’s Malcolm’s son, will have to step up to the plate, get tested, and check into the hospital to donate his bone marrow. Yep, we’re calling it now: Holden will be the one to save Mal’s life.
If our suspicions pan out, it’s about to be a whirlwind week for Novak, who will find out, not only that he has a different father than he believed, but also a biological half-sister, and is needed to save a life… all in one fell swoop!
