Beloved BBC show taken off air in major schedule shake-up ahead of death twist
Fans of BBC’s Casualty face disappointment as the programme will reportedly be absent from screens for the next fortnight following a significant schedule reshuffle.
The medical drama, which recently prompted viewers to express concern over a cherished character, typically broadcasts on Saturday evenings.
However, for the coming two weeks it has been removed from the BBC’s schedule to make way for a brand new programme.
Taking its usual slot this weekend will be the Big Night of Musicals by the National Lottery, presented by Jason Manford.
The show will celebrate West End productions with tributes to the likes of Wicked, Les Misérables, Matilda and Phantom of the Opera, reports the Mirror.

Presently, Casualty is broadcasting a mini-series titled Learning Curve and has just two remaining episodes before it concludes.
Audiences will need to wait until Saturday, April 11 at 8:30 pm to discover what unfolds next.
Thus far this series, viewers have witnessed the devastating storyline of Siobhan McKenzie (portrayed by Melanie Hill) disclose to her colleagues that she had been raped.
This led to Cam Mickelthwaite (Barney Walsh) attempting to confront her attacker after discovering his address. Though the confrontation went awry as he assaulted Cam, leaving him requiring hospital treatment for surgery after sustaining a head injury.

Meanwhile, fans were left stunned when it emerged that long-running character Dylan Keogh (William Beck) was the biological father of newcomer Matty Linklaker (Aron Julius).
However, one question continues to linger for fans: which character will face their premature demise? In January, Casualty unveiled a trailer depicting various team members appearing devastated at a funeral.
Whilst Stevie is observed delivering a speech at the mournful event, with Iain seated in the front row, viewers have been speculating about who they believe could be exiting the programme.
One of the names being proposed includes Faith Cadogan (Kirsty Mitchell), who has been a fixture on the show since 2019.

On X, one individual commented: “Getting to be together, forever” oh! is it faith who dies then?” Another posted: “Stevie is standing up and Ian at front of church in the quick bit you see. Faith?”
Although some suspect it could be newcomer Kim Chang (Jasmine Bayes) as one person remarked: “I got a feeling that it is Kim’s funeral that we see in the trailer..”
Whilst another added: “I did think the funeral at the end of the trailer was faith and Iain’s baby… now I’m swaying towards Kim; stevie is growing towards her.”
