When is BBC’s Casualty back on as show removed from schedule?

BBC’s Casualty enthusiasts are in for a disappointment as the show is set to be off-air for the next two weeks due to a significant scheduling reshuffle.

The medical drama, which recently sparked concern among fans over a favourite character, typically broadcasts on Saturday evenings.

However, it has been removed from the BBC’s schedule for the upcoming fortnight to make way for a new programme.

Taking its usual slot this weekend will be the Big Night of Musicals by the National Lottery, hosted by Jason Manford.

The show will pay tribute to West End productions, featuring performances from musicals such as Wicked, Les Misérables, Matilda and Phantom of the Opera, reports the Mirror.

Currently, Casualty is running a mini-series titled Learning Curve, with only two episodes remaining before its conclusion.

Viewers will have to wait until Saturday, 11 April at 8:30 pm to discover what happens next.

Throughout this series, audiences have followed the distressing storyline of Siobhan McKenzie (played by Melanie Hill) disclosing to her colleagues that she had been raped.

This led to Cam Mickelthwaite (Barney Walsh) attempting to confront her assailant after obtaining his address.

However, the confrontation went awry when he attacked Cam, who was subsequently hospitalised for surgery following a head injury.

In another twist, viewers were stunned to learn that longstanding character Dylan Keogh (William Beck) was the biological father of newcomer Matty Linklaker (Aron Julius).

However, a burning question remains for fans: which character will face an untimely demise? In January, Casualty unveiled a trailer featuring various team members appearing devastated at a funeral.

Stevie is seen delivering a speech at the mournful event, with Iain seated in the front row, prompting viewers to speculate about who might be exiting the show.

One of the names being floated is Faith Cadogan (Kirsty Mitchell), who has been a part of the series since 2019.

On X, one viewer speculated: “Getting to be together, forever” Oh! is it faith who dies then?” Another suggested: “Stevie is standing up and Ian at front of church in the quick bit you see. Faith?”

Some believe it could be newcomer Kim Chang (Jasmine Bayes), as one person commented: “I got a feeling that it is Kim’s funeral that we see in the trailer..”

While another added: “I did think the funeral at the end of the trailer was faith and Iain’s baby… now I’m swaying towards Kim; stevie is growing towards her.”
