EastEnders unveils huge Max and Cindy twist in shocking early iPlayer release

EastEnders has revealed a huge twist involving Max Branning and Cindy Beale, as their love-hate relationship takes another major turn. Viewers will remember that Max and Cindy slept together on Christmas Day without knowing the other’s identity and were furious when they discovered the truth.

But since then, the pair have grown closer again and previously made an unlikely team as they plotted to bring down Jasmine together.

Meanwhile, this week Max spied a tense conversation between Lauren and Mark. He didn’t hear the truth about Mark’s cars being dodgy, but in today’s episode he was confused when Lauren explained that she wasn’t doing business with him anymore.

Perplexed by her daughter’s hasty move, Max asked Priya about Mark’s motives. He decided to take matters into his own hands so confronted Mark at the gym and warned him to stay clear of the car lot.

Mark asked Lauren to tell her dad to back off, so she raged at Max in the café and made it clear that she didn’t need his help when it comes to business.

Elsewhere, Max attempted to make amends and did Linda’s laundry for her to apologise for snapping at her the other day.

The pair later spent time with Annie together, and Max quickly jumped to Linda’s defence when Johnny was cold towards her in the Square.

That evening, Max propped up the bar at The Albert, where Cindy told him that a date had been fixed for Jasmine’s trial. It was clear that sparks were still flying between them, and Max successfully seduced Cindy once again.

Back at Peacock Palace, Linda told her mum what had happened with Max earlier. Elaine tried to warn Linda off Max, but got her attention by informing her that Max was drinking in the bar on his own.

Linda headed to The Albert in search of Max, but she was horrified when she spotted him passionately kissing Cindy through the window!

With Linda looking hurt by what she saw, could this mean that she has feelings for Max despite her denial? And could Cindy be who Max is set to marry on New Year’s Day?
