The peaceful shores of Summer Bay are once again clouded by drama as Harper Matheson (Jessica Redmayne) finds herself at the center of a community-wide firestorm. In a series of shocking twists, the arrival of her estranged mother, Kerrie (Sara Wiseman), has left a trail of destruction that threatens to send a beloved resident to prison.

Tane’s Legal Nightmare The tension in the Bay has reached a breaking point following the arrest of Tane Parata (Ethan Browne). Tane, currently out on bail but forced to wear an ankle monitoring bracelet, is facing serious charges of drug possession. However, viewers know the truth: Tane is entirely innocent. He has been framed for a crime he didn’t commit, and the culprit is none other than Kerrie.

Kerrie, a former substance abuser whose return to the Bay was met with immediate suspicion by her daughter Dana (Ally Harris), has proved that she hasn’t changed her ways. Her decision to plant drugs on Tane has not only put his freedom at risk but has also fractured the fragile peace Harper was trying to build for her family.

Harper Under Fire As news of Tane’s arrest spreads, the residents of Summer Bay are quick to point fingers. Mackenzie Booth (Emily Weir) is leading the charge, placing the blame squarely on Harper’s shoulders. Mackenzie’s anger stems from the fact that Harper invited Kerrie back into their lives despite warnings from Tane and Dana.

The backlash becomes physical and social this week when Harper visits Salt. In a stinging moment of rejection, Mackenzie refuses to serve her, effectively making Harper persona non grata in the town’s social hub. Instead of fighting back, a guilt-ridden Harper retreats, internalizing the town’s hatred and blaming herself for the chaos her mother has unleashed.

The Desperate Search for Kerrie Realizing that the only way to clear Tane’s name is to track down her mother, Harper begins a desperate search. “Harper consistently attempts to reach Kerrie, knowing full well that this is Kerrie’s handiwork,” actress Jessica Redmayne told TV WEEK.

Harper isn’t alone in her quest. Cash Newman, ever the investigator, joins forces with her to find a lead. The clock is ticking; if they can’t find Kerrie or identify the drug suppliers soon, the police will proceed with a case that could see Tane behind bars for a very long time.

Family Wounds Reopened The storyline also dives deep into the complex dynamics between the Matheson sisters. While Harper hoped for a reconciliation that would give her son, Archie, a relationship with his grandmother, Dana remained skeptical. Ally Harris, who plays Dana, noted that the arrival of their mother has exposed “childhood wounds that haven’t been healed.”

As the drama unfolds, the question remains: Can Harper find Kerrie and force a confession before Tane’s time runs out? Or has her attempt to heal her family permanently destroyed the lives of those she cares about most?
