Casualty’s Jacob faces unexpected turmoil in shocking new police storyline

Casualty‘s Jacob Masters is set to be placed in a gut-wrenching position with his son Blake in upcoming episodes of the soap.

Scenes set to air this Saturday on the show will see Blake incorrectly profiled in a mugging case when police officer Ashley Sullivan returns to work after being stabbed in the line of duty.

Ashley was stabbed while on a dramatic callout with their partner Teddy Gowan as well as Jacob, and despite being in a critical condition following the attack, she recovered.

Blake has faced several obstacles during his time in the soap, including mental health issues and his previous diagnosis of bipolar disorder.

As Ashley returns to work, her first callout back is a harrowing one and sees her working together with the Holby paramedic team once again.

Teddy tells Ashley to take it easy on her first day back since being stabbed, but Jacob interrupts the moment to point out blood spatters.

They find the driver, Ryan, with a tree branch impaled in his neck, but they are left more horrified when a girl falls out of the boot of the car, believing Ryan has abducted her.

Later, Ashley responds to a call describing the ID of a mugger who’s attacked multiple people in the area – including a vulnerable patient who was admitted to the ED.

She chases a jogging man she believes matches the description, only to find it is Blake. She searches for him despite Jacob’s explanations. Will Blake be arrested, and can he prove his innocence?

Teddy actor Milo Clarke teased the shocking turmoil he is set to face in the storyline while speaking exclusively to Digital Spy on the red carpet at the Inside Soap Awards 2025.

He revealed that there is far more to come for these two characters in the current boxset titled ‘Learning Curve’, which has been running since the start of the year.

“The next boxset’s an exciting one,” he teased. “I’d say definitely for my character, Teddy goes through a lot in this boxset. Teddy and Jacob have quite an interesting story. I’m not sure if I can reveal too much yet, but it involves a bit of police drama, and definitely a few more cliffhangers.

“We try and split up the dynamics between a lot of the characters in this one and then see if they come back together and see if they do learn a lot through the boxset. It’s exciting, very exciting.”
