Emmerdale’s Victoria Sugden announces her exit – and she’s going soon

Emmerdale‘s Victoria Sugden has revealed to a shocked Robert that she is ready to leave the village as she struggles with the guilt over John’s death. Fans know that Vic is the one who killed John in self-defence during the events of Corriedale. Joe Tate has since been blackmailing the Sugdens as he’s in possession of a video that shows Victoria killing John.

As a result, Robert was forced to plant evidence to incriminate Moira Dingle for the death of Celia Daniels. As Moira is currently behind bars, Joe made it clear he wouldn’t stop until the Tates get their hands on their rival’s farm.

The villain forced Vic and Robert to sell their share of Moira’s farm, leaving to Vic the unenviable task to get Moira to sign.

“I’ll go. Mother to mother. Might soften the blow,” she told Robert after an ominous visit from Joe.

In prison, Moira’s happiness at seeing a friendly face vaned when Victoria explained the real reason for her visit.

“I can’t do this. I need to get out,” she said, revealing they received an offer from the Tates. “You have to understand. We had no choice.”

“If you’re selling to them, I’m not signing,” Moira said. “I’ve given my life to that place. It’s my home!”

As Victoria insisted they didn’t have another option, Moira softened up, knowing Joe would be coming for her share next.

“The Tates always get what they want, don’t they?” she said as she signed the paperwork. “You made the right choice for you and Harry,” she then told Vic. “I’d have done the same.”

“Just you remember, whatever happens, we are still family,” Moira concluded as a guilt-ridden Victoria looked nervous.

Back in the village, Robert informed Cain Dingle they would be selling to the Tates, with Cain immediately kicking him out for betraying them.

At home, Victoria was browsing flights to Portugal, despite Robert insisted that they would have to stick together.

“Today was one of the worst days of my life,” Victoria said, telling Robert she couldn’t “live with the guilt”.

She added: “I’m done, Robert. I’ve spoken to Diane, and she said that me and Harry could go to Portugal and stay for as long as we want. Me and Harry are laving tomorrow.”

Victoria star Isabel Hodgins previously shared she’d be going on maternity leave, taking a break from the soap. Her exit storyline concludes tomorrow (12 February).
