Emmerdale fans ‘work out’ Ray’s real killer after spotting incriminating clue
Emmerdale fans believe they’ve worked out Ray Walters’ real killer after spotting an incriminating clue. Viewers of the ITV soap will recall that drug dealer Ray (Joe Absolom) fatally stabbed his wicked mother, Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths), on New Year’s Day after she denied him a fresh start with Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy).
Ray subsequently met a similar fate when his body was spotted being hauled through the village, just prior to the Corriedale crossover. After a tense week of flashback episodes, it was finally disclosed that Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) had indeed killed Ray as he was about to hurt his son, Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt).
In an attempt to conceal his father’s deeds, Paddy kept Bear confined in a secluded house, mirroring Bear’s time on Ray and Celia’s farm last year. Tuesday’s (January 27) episode saw Bear break free from his room and attempt to locate his friend Anya’s (Alia Al-Shabibi) grave. However, before he could, he was noticed by Caleb (William Ash) and Ruby Miligan (Beth Cordingly) during their walk, reports the Daily Star.

A worried Paddy agreed to accompany his father to the hospital, with the police soon proposing to join them there for questioning. In Wednesday’s (January 28) episode, now available for streaming on ITVX, returning character Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) left his ex-wife Kim Tate (Claire King) and her step-grandson, Joe (Ned Porteous), stunned when he showed up at Home Farm after being presumed dead for six years.
Joe and Kim struggled to come to terms with Graham’s unexpected reappearance, a situation further complicated when the police showed up looking for him. They wanted to bring Graham in for questioning, leading him to suspect that Kim had tipped them off.
However, it was Joe who had revealed his presence, stating: “You were gone and you should have stayed gone,” while Kim chimed in with: “Oh dear. That bullet you were willing to take, look who’s holding the gun.”
In a twist of events, several Emmerdale viewers are now speculating that Bear may not be responsible for Ray’s demise, pointing the finger instead at Graham.

Fans will recall that on the day of Ray’s death, Graham went to meet his ex-partner Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) after discovering that April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) was mixed up with the drug dealer. Graham later had a violent confrontation with Ray in the church hall, before managing to slip away unnoticed when Joe arrived on the scene. Could he have intercepted Ray after his encounter with Bear?
One viewer shared their theory on a Facebook fan page: “I still don’t think Bear killed Ray. That’s a sleeper hold in wrestling,” with another agreeing: “That’s what I was thinking too. I’ve watched wrestling far too long to know that was just a sleeper hold.” A third chimed in with: “I was thinking maybe he died of his injuries that Graham did when he was beating him up, they all think Bear’s killed him, so therefore he will be in the clear.”
Another viewer echoed these thoughts, stating: “What if this was all just a ruse and Ray didn’t die after Bear strangled him. Graham could have got there after?” A further comment suggested: “Bear’s not a killer. I bet you Graham struck the fatal blow and we just haven’t found out yet.”
