The actress, who is renowned for portraying Mandy Dingle in the ITV soap, featured as a panellist on Loose Women this week, where she joined Kaye Adams, Oti Mabuse and Janet Street Porter to discuss the topic.
Throughout the conversation, Lisa, who has been with her partner, Al, since 2014, revealed her IVF journey and how she ultimately accepted that motherhood wasn’t ‘meant to be’.
The soap star explained how she dedicated considerable time to advancing her career, and how when she chose to attempt pregnancy with Al, she discovered she was unable to conceive.
“I’ve spoken a lot, about me personally, being a catholic, it drummed into us, you don’t use contraception and you don’t have sex before marriage,” Lisa shared.

“That was in my head a lot, then later in life, career, I did chose my career, apps weren’t available then to look at your cycle, I waited… waited… found the right person in Al, when it came to the time of trying, I couldn’t fall pregnant. I would have given everything in my life to have had a child.”
Discussing her IVF journey in greater detail, Lisa revealed: “I wasn’t that lucky, I tried everything until the point where Al turned to me and he literally said, ‘You have to stop all the IVF treatment because it’s diminishing you, it’s taking your personality away, you’re trying to hard’.
“Sometimes in life, it’s not meant to be. I have to sit with you girls here today knowing that. However I am very lucky, because I am a family unit. My nephew and my niece, they are a big part of me,” reports the Manchester Evening News.
However, merely days after openly discussing her IVF experience and inability to conceive, Lisa was bombarded with congratulatory messages as speculation circulated that she was expecting.

Taking to her Instagram Story, the I’m A Celebrity personality fired back: “This is no one’s fault apart from fake news, clickbait and oh my God what world do we live in? I am 100% not pregnant.
“I have been inundated with congratulations today. And do you know what makes that even more sick? The fact that only this week on Loose Women I was talking about the fact that me and Al, my other half, we couldn’t get pregnant.”
She went on: “We tried IVF and it didn’t work. But still the very strange people out there feel they need to clickbait and put out fake news that I am pregnant. Well I’m not. So do you know what, to clickbait and AI and all this nonsense this world is becoming. There, that’s yours,” she declared, before raising her middle finger defiantly.
Lisa concluded her video message with a clear statement: “So clarification, I’m not pregnant. I think if I was pregnant I might have told people. Just food for thought, when you read something, go to the person’s social media, have a look if they’ve said anything. If they haven’t, it’s probably fake news.”
