It looks like their could be wedding bells for one couple on EastEnders.

Despite their on/off relationship, Lauren Branning and Peter Beale finally got engaged earlier this year.

However, since that time they’ve had numerous setbacks, and are yet to set a wedding date.

Actress Jacqueline Jossa, who plays Lauren, said there would be a “wedding bells soon” and now Michelle, who plays Peter’s mum Cindy Beale, has added fuel to that fire.

Asked about a possible Walford wedding, she didn’t deny that this was on the cards and told The Mirror: “I can’t tell you anything about that, I’m sorry!”

The outlet reported that Michelle quickly changed changed the subject quickly and said: “Erm… well Cindy and Lauren do not get on. Daughter-in-law, and mother-in-law, but you know I kind of like that.

“I like the conflict and the confrontation and it’s kind of like real life isn’t it. It’s kind of fun.”

WALFORD RETURN

Michelle thrilled fans when she returned to Albert Square as Cindy in 2023.

Even though the actress was happy that the show’s former executive producer Chris Clenshaw asked her to come back to the BBC soap, the star wasn’t sure how well her character would be received by viewers.

Speaking at the TRIC Awards at Grosvenor House in London, Michelle said: “I didn’t know if people would be happy that she was back. I really didn’t know, you have to take that risk!

Cindy Beale leaves Walford in shock EastEnders moment – but she vows revenge

“But, I think she’s gone down quite well.”

Cindy – who is the former wife of Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) and the ex-wife of George Knight (Colin Salmon) – has caused a lot of drama since her return, such as having an affair with George’s son Junior (Micah Balfour).

But Michelle thinks Cindy’s bad behaviour has gone down well with EastEnders’ viewers.

She said: “I think people are liking her.

“People don’t want to see nice Cindy. She was nice for a while, and they don’t want to see nice Cindy – I promise you, they don’t!

“Sometimes I’ll pick up the scripts, and I’ll go, ‘Oh no, you can’t. Really? Having an affair with his son? No, it’ll be fine, people love her.'”
