BBC EastEnders shares shock Sean Slater update and fans are devastated
EastEnders has dropped a significant update about Sean Slater, and it’s not exactly cheery news.
The popular character, portrayed by Rob Kazinsky, first graced our screens back in 2006 as Stacey’s (Lacey Turner) brother and Jean’s (Gillian Wright) son.
As Walford’s resident heartthrob and rogue, Sean quickly won over the audience and found himself at the centre of numerous major storylines. From his tumultuous love affairs to his attempted murder-suicide on a frozen lake, Sean’s stint in Walford was anything but dull.
However, in 2009, Sean bid farewell to the square, only to make a series of brief comebacks, most notably in 2019 when his mum Jean was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

He returned to Walford once more in November 2021 after Jean sought his assistance to oust Eve (Heather Peace), whom she didn’t trust at the time. However, Sean hasn’t been spotted since April 2022, reports OK!.
Meanwhile, over at Albert Square, the long-standing soap has begun setting the stage for the exit of Sean’s sister Stacey, who has had a rollercoaster year on the show.

Earlier this year, actress Lacey announced that she would be taking an extended break from the programme. Her impending departure seems imminent – and it involves Sean.
Spoilers have disclosed that Sean has now settled down in Brazil, South America and extends an invitation to Stacey to join him there. Despite initial reservations, Stacey accepts the offer.
However, fans were less than thrilled to learn that Sean has settled thousands of miles away in Brazil, as many were holding out hope for a return.

“Since when was Sean living in Brazil? !” pondered one viewer on an EastEnders Facebook fan page. Another added: “Fuming, I wanted him to at least be in the UK so a return could be possible.” A third echoed: “Same here.”
After his initial departure from Albert Square, Rob set his sights on a career in the US. In 2013, he played Chuck Hansen in Pacific Rim alongside Charlie Hunnam and Idris Elba.
That same year, he starred as Macklyn Warlow in the sixth season of HBO’s True Blood.
In 2019, he entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe with his role as Don in Captain Marvel. The former soap star also portrayed Perini in Netflix’s The Gray Man, sharing the screen with Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Rege-Jean Page and Ana de Armas.
