He spent nine days in a coma and had multiple life-saving surgeries with his mum saying it is a “miracle” he survived.

A GoFundMe page was set up to raise money to bring Connor home.

Jake revealed this week that enough money had been raised.

On Tuesday, January 13, page organiser Victoria Dean gave an update on Connor’s health, which Jake then shared on his own social media account.

“We are writing this update with hearts full of gratitude,” she began.

“Thanks to your incredible generosity, love, and support, we were able to raise enough funds for medical repatriation back to UK.”

She went on: “The medics from SkyCare have arrived in Colombia and will be flying back with Connor through the night.

“He still has a long recovery ahead and will be transferred by ambulance to a hospital in the UK, but he is coming home.”

Victoria concluded: “Thank you all so much; Connor is so happy and thankful to be coming home and we could not have done this without you.”

The fundraiser has had 689 donations and is extremely close it its target of £35,000.

Scott Maslen had pledged £500, with Emma Barton, Gillian Taylforth, Jessie Wallace, Diane Parish, Colin Salmon, and Adam Woodyatt all giving £100.

Clair Norris contributed £50, while Jacqueline Jossa donated £200.

Page organiser Victoria Dean issued an update on January 2, sharing that Connor was aware his mum Denise was by his side.

It read: “After 9 days in a coma, he is now off of mechanical ventilation and breathing with minimal support.

“He remains in ICU and is still under light sedation, but is aware that Denise is there and is responding to her.

“He was due to have another surgery today, but this has been delayed and we are hoping to get a date for next week.

“Thank you so much for all of your support, it really means the world to all of us. Love from Denise & family Xxxx.”
