Casualty fans share their excitement as BBC drama returns with major shake-up

Casualty has returned to BBC One, introducing fresh faces in the emergency department.

In the latest episode of the medical drama (January 10), the doctors grappled with the year’s hottest day while striving to save lives. Dylan Keogh (William Beck) found himself flustered as he suspected that newly-qualified resident doctor Matty Linlaker (Aron Julius) might be his son.

The new arrival was already causing a stir in the ED, clashing with Jodie Whyte (Anna Chell) and Flynn Byron (Olly Rix).

Eager to confirm her suspicions about Dylan’s potential connection to Matty, Stevie Nash (Elinor Lawless) asked him about his mother’s name, seemingly confirming the link.

Meanwhile, newcomer Dr Kim Chang (Jasmine Bayes) was adjusting to the hectic pace of the A&E department, but her day took a challenging turn, reports the Mirror.

She was assigned a locker in the staff room that previously belonged to Ngozi Okoye (Adesuwa Oni), prompting Nicole Piper (Sammy Dobson) to reminisce about her past love.

Upon hearing that Nicole had once installed a mirror for her ex in the locker, Kim assumed that something tragic had happened, leading to Ngozi’s absence from work.

However, it was later revealed to viewers that Ngozi is very much alive, despite Kim’s earlier implication of her demise.

Nicole was less than pleased with the suggestion, and as if on cue, Ngozi rang from the rehabilitation centre where she resided.
