Coronation Street Sally Carman’s soap exit ‘sealed’ in heartbreaking Abi twist

Coronation Street viewers are predicting a heart-wrenching departure for much-loved character Abi Webster.

Abi, portrayed by Sally Carman-Duttine, has had a tumultuous few months since her introduction to the ITV soap in 2017.

Earlier this year, she was left traumatised after witnessing the brutal and shocking murder of Mason Radcliffe (played by Luca Toolan), leading to severe PTSD and hallucinations of her deceased son Seb (Harry Visinoni).

Her husband Kevin (Michael Le Vell) was subsequently diagnosed with testicular cancer. Around the same time, his long-absent brother Carl (Jonathan Howard), who had been living in Germany, made a surprise return to Weatherfield.

However, Carl quickly stirred up trouble when Abi found herself falling for him, despite trying to resist her feelings for her brother-in-law. The pair eventually succumbed to their attraction and have been secretly involved, reports the Daily Star.

In addition to his romantic escapades, Carl has been engaging in some shady activities. Initially, he began issuing fraudulent MOTs through his brother’s garage.

He then turned to car theft while working for criminal boss Fiona. However, this week it was revealed that Carl was behind the wheel of the stolen car that hit Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall).

After the hit-and-run incident, Tyrone ended up in hospital with potential paralysis. In an attempt to hide his involvement, Carl torched the car, but police officer Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) seems to be closing in on him, suspecting Carl is up to no good.

Fans think Carl will frame Abi(Image: ITV)

However, amidst the unfolding drama, viewers are speculating that Carl might frame Abi for his wrongdoings, potentially leading to her departure from the show.

On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one viewer expressed: “I can’t stand that Carl hope he gets what is coming to him!”.

Another speculated: “I think he’s going to get away with it and frame Abi and then make a getaway.” A third chimed in: “Yes I thought he could frame her.” Someone else mused: “He def will just look out for himself and throw her under the bus.”
