CORONATION Street has revealed what happened to Daniel Osbourne after he was attacked and left for dead on Christmas Day.

The ITV soap has decided to end the festivities with a harrowing whodunnit after one beloved character was beaten and left for dead on the cobbles.

The drama-packed episode saw a disastrous Christmas lunch at the Rovers see Eva Price fall victim to her killer mother-in-law Maggie Driscoll’s plot to ruin her relationship.

The Driscolls welcomed their friends and neighbours into the pub for a slap up lunch before Maggie decided to out Eva for having an affair with Adam Barlow.

However the problem with that plan was that Eva didn’t have an affair with Adam – and instead he had supported her with something else – an abortion.

Years before returning to the cobbles, Eva and Ben split up and Eva discovered she was pregnant.

Unable to face raising two children as a single mother, Eva made a tough decision and Adam gave her emotional support after a chance run in.

Maggie thought she had discovered an affair and exposed it at lunch, but it backfired with Ben eventually kicking her out.

But as she was packing Maggie spotted her grandson Will violently attacking Daniel Osbourne in the alleyway.

Viewers know Will is raging after being groomed and abused by his coach Megan, who is dating Daniel publicly to avoid her sickening crime being discovered.

However instead of helping, Maggie simply pocketed Daniel’s watch and wallet and made it look like a random robbery to protect Will.

She then framed someone else for the crime after spending the night at the Chariot Square Hotel.

The bizarre development comes after it was revealed that Maggie herself is a killer.

A flashback episode showed the moment she killed her husband – Ben’s dad – after he confronted her about an affair she had around the time Ben was conceived.

Another mystery was also revealed when Maggie spotted something concerning in Ken Barlow’s sideboard that saw her flee his house.

But what is Maggie hiding? And will she be exposed for her own misdeeds?
