Fans of the soap will recall that Lisa Swain’s (Vicky Myers) ex-wife, Becky, was tragically killed after being hit by a vehicle whilst on duty back in 2021.
After much speculation surrounding Becky’s death, it’s now been confirmed that the former officer is, in fact, alive.
During Monday’s (September 8) episode, Lisa got the shock of her life when the wife she thought had been killed turned up in her living room.
After a dramatic 18th birthday for her daughter, Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin), who witnessed a horrific hit and run, Lisa and her new fiancée Carla Connor (Alison King) were excited for a quiet night in together, reports the Daily Star.

However, when Carla went out to investigate an alarm going off at Underworld, Lisa was stunned to be confronted by the ghost from her past.
This new development comes after fans were sent into a frenzy after a mysterious woman interacted with Roy Cropper (David Neilson) at Weatherfield General on Friday (September 5).
Later this week, Carla will return to number six to find her shocked fiancée questioning her former wife.
The drama isn’t set to slow down in the coming weeks either, as Carla tries to find out the truth about Becky’s fake death.
What does the return of Becky mean for Carla and Lisa, and how will Betsy cope with being reunited with the mum she thought was dead for the last four years?

Actress Amy Cudden, known for her roles in Mr. Bates vs. the Post Office and Vera, has been cast as Becky in the popular soap.
Upon landing the role, Amy revealed: “I had a long conversation with Kate Brooks, the producer, the day after I got the part and that was when I realised what a big story it was going to be.”
She further explained that Becky is determined to be with her wife and daughter, and views Carla as a “clear threat” to her family.
“Becky feels she must return to try and reclaim her family even if that puts her at risk,” she added.
Amy continued: “I agree with fans who might be furious to see someone come in and disrupt one of the most beautiful on-screen relationships. It’s unconscionable, and they should be angry. However, it’s such a complicated relationship that other feelings will emerge as it unfolds.

“Things forged in fire only get stronger. Becky is a spanner in the works, but it doesn’t necessarily mean the worst, though it will be very difficult.
“Ultimately, this makes for really good TV and a fun, emotional, challenging, but rewarding journey for everyone. We want to give viewers a really good show; if everything was always wrapped up neatly, it wouldn’t be interesting. Come with us on this journey!”
With DI Costello (Daon Broni) recently seen interfering in Becky’s case, Amy hinted at a “complicated” storyline involving the two characters.
“What we know so far about Becky and Costello’s relationship is just the tip of the iceberg; what’s underneath is much more complicated and hidden,” she revealed.
“It will be a lot of fun watching that unfold. Daon Broni is amazing and a brilliant scene partner. He’s going to tangle the story even further and create more brilliant drama and mess.”
