EastEnders reveals sinister Christmas Day clue ahead of devastating incident

EastEnders star Michelle Ryan has dropped a little clue about the Christmas Day episode, teasing that things aren’t going to go to plan for the Slater family. Not that 25 December ever goes well in Walford.

Michelle and her on-screen mum Jessie Wallace took part in a little Q&A video for Instagram, with one of the questions being about whether the cast actually eat the food when doing a Christmas dinner scene.

That was when Zoe Slater actor Michelle let a secret slip. She said: “This year, there is no Christmas meal. For the Slaters. That just didn’t happen.”

We’ve seen that the Slaters are planning on opening The Queen Vic for Christmas Day, and having a big community dinner with anyone who wants to join. But if the dinner doesn’t happen, that means that something must go wrong.

We know that Zoe’s mysterious stalker will terrify her once again on Christmas Day, with Kat ordering everyone out of The Vic for Zoe’s protection.

A big incident will lead to the police swarming Albert Square, and now we know that on top of all this drama, the Slaters (and perhaps other Albert Square residents) are gonna be going hungry.

Returning to the question about whether the cast actually eat the Christmas dinner, Jessie said: “We don’t really want to though, do we?”

The Kat Slater actor said the cast used to be excited to eat the food, but then that soon changed as they end up doing “take after take after take” and “you’ve got to keep that continuity up, and then come Christmas Day, I can’t look at a Christmas dinner.”

Both stars have praised the scripts for this year’s festive episodes, with Michelle stating: “These are the best scripts I’ve ever read and been part of in EastEnders.”

“They’re brilliant,” Jessie added. “It’s like one thing after another after another. Just when you’re getting over that, then there’s something else. It’s chaotic.

“As an actor, when there’s so much going on, there’s all these things you’ve got to think about, so it’s an explosion of stuff. I have never known a Christmas episode like it, that I’ve been part of anyway.”
