EastEnders viewers are suspecting that Anthony Trueman is the one causing distress to Zoe Slater.

The character, portrayed by Nicholas Bailey, has recently made a permanent comeback to Walford and his behaviour has been suspicious ever since.

His ex-flame Zoe (Michelle Ryan), who is currently on a quest to find the son she relinquished for adoption 19 years ago, has been increasingly anxious due to the alarming threats she’s been receiving over the past few weeks.

This week’s harassment saw Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace), Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) and Zoe kept awake all night by nuisance calls and texts, with Zoe convinced that Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) was the anonymous caller.

Despite Kat and Alfie’s attempts to persuade Zoe that Jean wasn’t her harasser, she remained steadfast and decided to confront Jean herself, reports the Daily Star.

Jean wasn’t receptive to conversation and another row ensued between them. With Jean’s mental health visibly deteriorating, Kat and Alfie advised Zoe to stop provoking her.

Feeling utterly isolated, Zoe reached out to Anthony for support but as he invited her round for a glass of wine, it was revealed that he was viewing a slideshow of photos of her on his computer.

Later that evening, Zoe and Anthony shared a drink and a kiss before heading upstairs to the bedroom.

Anthony had previously tried to convince Zoe’s family that she was experiencing a psychotic break, but could he be her stalker after all?

One fan took to social media, writing: “What if Anthony and his wife adopted Zoe’s son without her knowing and they don’t want him to get back to Zoe…?”.

Another chimed in: “I think Anthony has her kid/kids.” A third person concurred: “He wants her to be deemed unfit to be a mother I think.”

Another individual commented: “I’m now convinced Anthony is the one terrorising Zoe.. He’s super obsessed with her and always around her.

“When she rejected him the first time he looked angry and is terrorising her to keep her close and punishing her for rejecting him. Something is off.”

In a flashback scene from 2006, Zoe gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl, after leaving Albert Square.

The daughter seemingly passed away and she decided to put her son up for adoption.

Fans have since been speculating if Anthony is the father of her children after they embarked on a romance two decades ago but it ended when he revealed he was in love with her mother, Kat.
