Vicky Myers, the actress famous for her portrayal of Lisa on Coronation Street, recently shared her feelings about saying goodbye to the show: The time has come to say farewell.
Changes at Coronation Street have been taking place throughout all of 2025 so far.
There’s been plenty of exits this year already – from Max Turner (Paddy Bever), who is now serving a six-year prison sentence, and Yasmeen Metcalfe (Shelley King) who left for a new life in London.
Let’s not forget Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) who also bid farewell to the cobbles in the back of a taxi.
We’ve also been introduced to Kevin and Debbie Webster’s (Michael Le Vell and Sue Devaney) estranged brother Carl (Jonathan Howard), as well as Theo Silverton (James Cartwright), who has started abusing Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce).
However, there are still plenty more changes ahead as we prepare to say goodbye to some beloved characters, as well as welcoming some familiar faces home.
Here’s the lowdown on who’s leaving and returning…
CORONATION STREET CAST EXITS
Billy Mayhew

It’s been confirmed that Daniel Brocklebank is leaving Corrie, after playing vicar Billy Mayhew for the past 11 years.
Discussing his departure, Daniel said: ‘I have been working on Corrie for a quarter of my life. I have adored every minute I have been in that building and have never not look forward to going into work.
He added: ‘I love everyone who works on this show and whilst I am sad to be going, I am equally excited to see what the future holds.’
Producer of the show Kate Brooks noted: ‘Billy will be involved in a major storyline over the coming months, which will see him tested in ways he never imagined, as friendships and his faith are pushed to the limit.
‘We’re incredibly sad to bid farewell to Dan, who has been fantastic in some of Corrie’s biggest storylines over the past few years, most notably Paul’s MND.
‘An actor of immeasurable talent and skill, and an absolute treasure behind the scenes – he will be missed by all of us on the cobbles.’
When is Billy Mayhew leaving Coronation Street? Later this year.
Dee-Dee Bailey

Coronation Street favourite Channique Sterling-Brown is leaving the ITV soap.
The actress, 28, has played solicitor Dee-Dee Bailey since 2022.
Daughter of Ed (Trevor Michael Georges) and Aggie (Lorna Laidlaw), the character has been at the centre of several huge storylines during the last three years.
Metro understands that Channique has decided to call time on the cobbles to pursue new projects, with her departure expected in the coming months.
When is Dee-Dee leaving Coronation Street? The official date is currently unknown.
Jenny Connor

Sally Ann Matthews confirmed her departure from the soap, 39 years after her debut.
The Jenny Connor actress took to Instagram earlier this year to share a picture of Jenny during one of her most hard-hitting storylines, which saw the character kidnap Jack Webster after the loss of her own son.
Alongside the picture she wrote: ‘I was supposed to stay for five months but ended up doing an extra ten years because I loved it so much!
‘It’s time though to play those parts I always hoped I would when I’d “grown up.” Thanks Trafford Wharf Rd for the memories and endless laughter.’
When is Jenny Connor leaving Coronation Street? The character departed in the episode broadcasted on Wednesday, October 1.
Aadi Alahan

Star Adam Hussain has left his role as Aadi Alahan.
Taking to Instagram, Adam announced his departure with a sweet post.
‘I guess the secrets out now! As some of you may have heard, I will be leaving Coronation Street for new pastures,’ the actor penned, alongside a recent photo of the full Corrie cast.
‘Over the 5 years I’ve spent there I have learned so much about the world and the industry and now feel I am ready to spread my wings a little. I have made friends that will last a lifetime and will surely miss such a special family!
‘This isn’t a farewell for Aadi however, more like a see you later!
‘I’m excited to see what the future brings! Thank you Coronation Street for giving me such a privilege of portraying this character for you. Until next time!’
When is Aadi Alahan leaving Coronation Street? Aadi departed Weatherfield in August, for a new life in India.
‘Unexpected’ exits…
2025 is also set to see some other characters make unexpected exits from the show, as Kate revealed.
‘There are a few exits this year, and some unexpected ones that will send shockwaves. People might not expect the exits, but there are a few.’
Once again, she is keeping quiet about exactly who is set to say farewell, but it sounds like there will be more than one…
More Coronation Street cast cuts?
It was reported on July 28, 2025, that Emmerdale and Coronation Street will face more changes as a result of ITV slashing their budges.
It is said that bosses at ITV will axe one in ten cast members from both soaps, as part of them cutting a further £15 million from the total budget.
As part of the changes, it’s also being reported that the amount of scenes per episode will be cut.
Coronation Street currently has 84 permanent cast members, while Emmerdale has 70. Some of the older cast members have contracts, but most of the cast are paid by each episode.
CORONATION STREET CAST RETURNS
Gail Platt

Though Gail Platt (Helen Worth) only left the soap last year, she is set to return this Christmas, it has been revealed.
‘Corrie bosses are keeping the exact details under wraps but it’s understood she takes the chance on Christmas Day to connect with the family,’ a source told The Sun.
‘And it [couldn’t] be more timely as the Platts find themselves in yet another drama, one that they’ve had to deal with by themselves since the Platts’ matriarch moved abroad.
‘It’s a move which is guaranteed to thrill soap fans, who wondered whether we’d ever catch a glimpse of show favourite Gail on the cobbles again.’

Bethany Platt returned to the cobbles on October 3 as actress Lucy Fallon returned from maternity leave.
Bethany left the cobbles for a new job opportunity in London earlier this year, but she will be back before we know it, with Lucy already filming again.
She posted a selfie from her dressing room to Instagram, exciting fans ahead of the character’s return.
‘And just like that she’s back,’ the star wrote.
Bethany’s returning storyline saw her questioned by police officer Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) after stealing her bosses car. Due to the fact Kit is Bethany’s mum’s boyfriend, he was able to work his bent copper magic and ensure she didn’t face any serious consequences.
Eva Price

Fans rejoiced when news broke that Eva Price was set to return to Coronation Street, with Catherine Tyldesley reprising her role on a full-time basis.
The character was last on our screens in 2018, when she departed Weatherfield with daughter Susie (now Aurora Bradshaw), following Aidan Connor’s devastating suicide.
Eva returned to the cobbles at the end of October – joined by Susie and some new arrivals…
Other characters?
Producer Kate Brooks as also teased returns for other characters, but her lips are tightly sealed.
‘There are other familiar faces coming back in 2025 which I will not disclose, but a few people will be returning to the street to cause their own forms of chaos,’ she told us.
CORONATION STREET NEW ARRIVALS
Ben and Maggie Driscoll

Eva was not alone when she returned to Weatherfield in late October.
She was joined by partner Ben Driscoll, who is played by Hope Street star Aaron McCusker and no stranger to pulling a pint or two – given that he plays pub landlord Clint Dunwoody in the BBC One drama, which returned for its fifth series in November.

The story Megan spun to Will’s family about where he had been and bringing him home was a complete lie, as we later learnt that she is grooming him.
Will believes that he is in a relationship with abuser Megan, and is struggling to settle into life on the cobbles due to the fact he constantly wants to spend time with her.
