ShinEnder EastEnders actress Laila Morse, 80, threatens to KICK TV star in the shins as on-screen challenge turns competitive

LAILA Morse suggested she might boot someone in the shins, as she tried to haggle for a better price on Celebrity Antiques Road Trip.

The 80-year-old appeared on the show with ex-EastEnders colleague Rita Simons, as the pair headed to Devon, southwest England, to search for bargains.

The premise of the show sees contestants, with the help of an expert, search for items to purchase, which they then try and make a profit on at auction.

Laila and Rita, 48, were assigned to work with antiques aficionado Angus, whose role is to guide contestants on price, and assess the likelihood of getting more money when selling.

Early on in the episode Angus turned to Laila and asked: “Are you a tough negotiator?”

To which Laila, who is the sister of Hollywood actor Gary Oldman, said: “I’m going to try. Otherwise, I’m going to get them in a headlock!”

She then came across a chair she wanted to purchase but tried to get a reduction on the £110 price tag.

Offering his expert opinion, Angus said: “I think we need to get a reasonable discount on that to give us a fighting chance. But we can try and negotiate.”

Prompting Laila to say: “Well, I could kick him in the shins?”

Angus then put his hand over his mouth, and said: “We could try. There’s no harm in trying, is there?”

To which Laila said: “Or we could just ask him politely if he’ll let us have it for 50 quid.”

Then Angus replied: “I’m just a bit worried, in case we don’t make good profits. I’m going to get… You know..”

Before he jokingly clutched his leg and pretended to fall backwards.

In July, The Sun Online exclusively revealed that the BBC had “quietly shelved” the celebrity version of the show, following 15 years on air.

A source said: “Celebrity Antiques Road Trip has proved a popular show for the BBC, but the focus right now is the original version of the show.

“A final decision hasn’t been made on its future just yet, but it’s definitely being rested for the remainder of the year and bosses will reassess in 2026.”

Celebrities who have competed on the programme over the years include 90s icons Sinitta and Samantha Fox, Love Island winners Ekin-Su and Davide Sancliment, as well as another EastEnders actor, Danny Dyer.

Presenter turned best-selling author Richard Osman appeared with his now-wife Ingrid Oliver, while former Towie regular Gemma Collins went head-to-head with Melvin Odoom.

And one of the more surprising celebrity pairings on the show saw stars of 80s comedy The Young Ones’, Alexi Sayle and Nigel Planer, hunting for bargain trinkets.
