CORONATION Street star Tina O’Brien has revealed her father has died in an emotional statement.
The actress posted on social media against a black background and wrote: “I’ve been a little quiet on here.
“My dad died recently. I haven’t quite known how to put it into words.
“My heart is very heavy but I’m grateful he is no longer suffering.”
Tina added: “Thank you to everyone who’s held me steady through this difficult time.
“I love you. You mean the world to me.”

She ended her statement with a rainbow, star, heart and praying hands emoji.
The 42-year-old is best known for her portrayal of Sarah Platt in the long-running ITV soap.
Tina last posted at the start of November on her socials, where she shared a photo dump of images from filming to spending time with her two children.
It comes after the star got emotional last month, while sharing a video of her daughter Scarlett singing.
She posted a clip of Scarlett, 16, on her Instagram, showing off her incredible vocals as she emotionally described the youngster as a “beautiful little human”.
Hundreds of followers, including her Corrie co-stars, rallied in to fawn over the clip.

In the caption, Tina wrote: “Couldn’t be prouder of Scarlett. Her voice gives me goosebumps she makes me so emotional.
“So much power and heart in one beautiful little human. Watching her grow into her own sound is pure magic.”
Corrie’s Sally Carman, who plays Abi Franklin, wrote: “Oh now this is very excellent.”
Former Corrie star Helen Flanagan said: “Oh Tina,” complete with a heart face emoji and a heart.
Actress Lucy-Jo Hudson added: “Ahhh wow Tina what a voice, absolutely gorgeous.”
While Claire Sweeney, who plays Cassie Plummer, penned: “This is so beautiful, her voice is great x.”
And Daniel Brocklebank, who plays Billy Mayhew, added some clapping hands emojis.
Fans also left support for Scarlett’s vocals as they took to the comments section.
One wrote: “So so talented! Amazing Scarlett! x.”
While another commented: “She’s a talented young lady. Her voice. screen presence, charisma – she will do well”.
It comes as 16-year-old Scarlett ditched her GCSE exams in favour of showbiz stardom.
The teen, who stars in BBC drama Waterloo Road, left her Instagram followers in awe of her “amazing” vocals as she gave her rendition of Sienna Spiro’s hit Maybe.
One fan promptly demanded she “bring out your own music” while another said she had “inherited the performing element” from her Coronation Street star parents.

Scarlett is the daughter of not one but two ITV soap stars.
As well as Tina being her mum, Ryan Thomas is her dad.
