Charles Lawson, the actor widely known for his role as Jim McDonald on the British soap opera Coronation Street, has been hospitalized following a series of falls at his home. The actor recently shared a health update with fans after being admitted for tests and monitoring.

Lawson, who has portrayed the iconic character Jim McDonald on and off since 1989, underwent various medical evaluations, including an MRI scan, as doctors worked to determine the cause of his falls.

In his update to the public, the actor expressed concern over his current condition, sharing that things “aren’t going awfully well” and promising to keep fans informed about his progress.

Lawson’s most recent public health scare occurred in 2018 when he suffered a mini-stroke (TIA) while performing on stage in the play Rebus: Long Shadows.
