Weatherfield is set for an unforgettable week of betrayal and confrontation as tensions explode across the famous street. Underworld boss Carla Connor finds herself back in police custody after being wrongly accused of fraud, while a heartbroken Abi Webster lashes out with a punch in the Rovers Return. Elsewhere, Todd Grimshaw is pushed to his breaking point, unaware he is the victim of his partner Theo Silverton’s sinister manipulation.
Carla’s Crisis and Vendetta
The drama kicks off when Carla is blindsided by a police visit at the factory. A detective informs her that a complaint of fraudulent activity has been lodged, forcing her to accompany them to the station for questioning. Carla is immediately convinced her long-time nemesis, Becky Swain, is behind the attack on her business and reputation, declaring her fury to Lisa Swain.
Although the allegation is later confirmed to be unfounded and Carla is released, she leaves on the warpath, vowing to uncover who tried to drag her name through the dirt. The incident puts a strain on her relationship with Lisa and fuels an explosive showdown at the Rovers, as Carla becomes determined to take matters into her own hands and get revenge.
Abi’s Fists and Marital Strife
Meanwhile, a desperate Abi Webster faces the emotional fallout of her new life with Carl Webster, Kevin’s estranged brother. After Roy Cropper suggests Carl pick up a sick Alfie from nursery so Abi can attend counselling, Carl is visibly hurt when Alfie clearly prefers Kevin to him.
The tension finally boils over when Tracy Barlow makes a cruel remark about Abi’s parenting in the Rovers. In a fit of rage, Abi snaps and punches Tracy in the face. Horrified, Abi realises Kevin witnessed the shocking outburst, leaving her humiliated and shaken. Elsewhere, Tim Metcalf loses his temper with Brody after his marriage to Sally becomes strained by her continued paranoia over his friendship with Trisha.
Todd’s Downfall and Platt Heartbreak
For Todd Grimshaw, life takes a disastrous turn carefully engineered by Theo Silverton. Theo deliberately sabotages Todd by throwing his clean work shirts into the washing machine and allowing him to oversleep, making him late and unreachable for an important funeral. Furious, George Shuttleworth tells Todd he’s no longer required and that Christina Boyd will be taking over his role. Theo then swoops in, pretending to offer support while secretly isolating Todd from his friends and colleagues.
Adding to the heartbreak, David Platt blurts out during a tense bistro gathering that his and Shona’s baby is gravely ill and may not survive. The devastating confession leaves Shona shattered as she storms out in tears, unable to face anyone.
A Quiet Secret
Even Roy Cropper finds himself caught in quiet intrigue when Nina Lucas confronts him about his strange new habits at the café. Roy finally reveals he has a “mystery friend” — a pen pal who inspired him to install a small library box outside the café. The revelation leaves Nina, and the viewers, wondering just who this mysterious new correspondent might be.
