5 big Coronation Street spoilers – Todd Grimshaw collapses and Debbie’s prison horror
Major drama is brewing in Coronation Street next week, with Todd Grimshaw facing harrowing abuse, Will Driscoll’s fury spiralling out of control, and Jodie Ramsey’s sinister scheme to hijack her sister’s existence. Beginning with Jodie’s web of deceit, Shona Platt grows suspicious and tails her to a psychiatric facility, where Jodie emotionally presents their bewildered, long-lost father. She recounts being abandoned to look after him when their mother disappeared. Believing she’s uncovered the reality, Shona feels compassion and welcomes Jodie into the fold. Meanwhile, at home, with baby Harper still receiving hospital treatment, a worn-out Shona loses her temper with Lily over a trivial demand for a designer water bottle, prompting David to suggest she take time for herself. When Shona mentions visiting their father, the manipulative Jodie steers her towards an evening out instead.

At the bistro, Shona confronts Carl for his flirtations with Jodie, who pretends to be upset. After encouraging Shona to drink heavily, the scheming Jodie calls David to escort his intoxicated wife home. Once Shona is tucked up in bed, Jodie convinces David to keep her company by settling down to watch a film together. The next day, Jodie expresses her gratitude to David for his warm hospitality.
However, David privately shares his unease about Jodie’s peculiar behaviour with Nick. Meanwhile, viewers catch a glimpse of her rummaging through a trinket box before retrieving a locket – an item sharp-eyed viewers have spotted previously. The mystery deepens: what secret is Jodie concealing?
Meanwhile, elsewhere on the cobbles, Sarah Platt and George Shuttleworth treat Todd to beverages and a takeaway meal. Whilst touched by the gesture, Todd notices several missed calls from Theo Silverton and swiftly retreats to listen.
Feeling remorseful after Summer’s finances are depleted by grocery purchases, Todd obtains an advance from George and splits it with Summer. However, when Todd joins James Bailey for brunch, he pretends to have forgotten his bank card, leaving James to settle the bill.
Subsequently, Theo arrives home and criticises Todd for his spending habits before handing him a tenner, instructing him to purchase tea and ensure he obtains a receipt. After discarding Billy Mayhew’s photograph, Theo departs with the rubbish bag.
Theo later challenges Todd about a takeaway bag discovered in the bin, highlighting the curry’s calorie count before demanding that Todd go for a run. James observes with growing unease as Todd hobbles along the street. Upon returning to the flat, Todd discovers Billy’s photograph has vanished – will Theo confess?
Subsequently, as Todd emerges from the bedroom clutching his neck, he’s evidently suffering discomfort.
Theo smirks privately at the visible love bite adorning Todd’s neck, and matters deteriorate further when an irate woman named Annie threatens legal action against George regarding a doctored will. Later, at the shop, a distressed Todd, already plagued by Jake Windass’ mockery about the love bite, loses his temper when Jake jokingly suggests he’s expecting.
Elsewhere on the cobbles, Ryan Connor recognises Mal Roper as he passes through the café heading upstairs to the flat. Bernie clarifies that Mal’s an electrician working for Roy Cropper, and asks Ryan to keep quiet about the hotel incident.
However, when Bernie discloses that Roy’s electrician is the same gentleman she spent the evening with at the hotel, daughter Gemma is appalled and urges her to confess to husband Dev Alahan before he discovers it elsewhere. Will Bernie heed Gemma’s counsel?
Subsequently, in the café, whilst Mal observes Dev and Bernie together, he falsely informs Roy that the flat requires complete rewiring, intent on prolonging his presence. Regarding the Chariot Square hotel mentioned earlier, Ryan instructs Carl Webster to display QR code stickers, but Carl declines, leading Ronnie Bailey to support Ryan’s position.
After finding the stickers discarded in the bin, Ryan dismisses Carl from his employment, which triggers Carl to devise a dangerous scheme to torch the hotel in a moment of fury.
Elsewhere, Debbie Webster is allocated an inmate to assist her, though she’s far from delighted when it turns out to be Lou Michaelis. As her imprisonment continues, Adam Barlow informs Carl that he intends to use Debbie’s TIA as grounds to seek a reduction in her sentence.
